As I mentioned a few days ago. Nikica's ultimate goal is to represent Croatia in the World Cup. The ONLY way for him to do that is to be stellar for Hull. Expect 150% from the man. Don't get me wrong, this isn't just about the WC, but some retribution. If the lads around him can give him the opportunities, he'll finish them. I'm extremely excited, not just for him or the NT but for Hull. I'd love to see Hull smash a few big boys and stamp their name in the PL. Exciting time.
The only smidgeon of concern I have in regards to that is whether his form could dip next season after the WC, but we can worry about that when it comes!
Great news. He and Long would make an ideal striker combination IMO. Shane with his speed making runs from deep and opening up the box for Nikica to smash the chances in first time. Thudd and Elmo must be delighted to see him up there. How good is he in the air Mark? Looks like a big guy...does he get on the end of crosses??? Lets get Shane signed up ASAP.
Hull City Official ‏@hullcityteam 13m NJ: “As a striker you need to be scoring goals and my target is to score as many as I can for Hull City." http://bit.ly/1dQXAHV #UTT Good to see him getting behind CTWD
Unfortunately had to listen to Hawksbee and Jacobs this afternoon discussing the Jelavic and Grant Holt moves. They reckon Everton are the real winner from this deal as he is a panic buy. Grant Holt is the far more sensible move because if it doesn't work out, Villa can send him back. If that's their yardstick for success, then lets pat ourselves on the back for Danny Graham.
On Colin Murray's show this morning Didi Hamann said Holt was a better signing than Jelavic for the same reason.
Do you think macca feels awkward every time he goes in that room and there's a picture of him screaming his head off?
And Danny Graham couldn't score a goal to save his life at Sunderland but when he signed on loan for City..
So you think Jelavic is a bad signing then? Nice to see someone writing him off before a game is played.
I didn't say that. It's a response to your argument he's bound to score goals because you were able to think of one player who scored a lot of goals after drying up elsewhere.
That was your 'argument' in response to what you strawmanned as the 'he doesn't score goals anymore' argument. Listen I hope he bangs in ten goals in the rest of the season but being out of form isn't in itself a positive. A positive would be if the player goes on to show great form from this moment.
Exactly my point. If that's how you measure signings than Graham is a better signing than Ozil, as the level of risk is lower.
