true .. but i think the issue is that Fellaini prefer to play at the back my guess bcz he is chickened out with all the pressure with his price tag and playing with UTD
Anyone else think Cabaye would be a good signing? He is definitely a player we could get, and he's just the type of player we need in midfield
Some reporter who covers the United youth games says we are going to 'potentially' bid for Mata in a few days. Basically we might or might not bid but i we do it will b a few days because Ed has to fly back from wherever he flew to originally before he makes the obligatory £25million bid
Could be true but really what is the point? Unless you are going to throw Rooney into the mix, why would Chelsea strengthen a rival when we could easily sell abroad or keep our squad strong? 25 million seems shy to. We paid around 22 million and he's been one of the best players in the league the previous 2 years. I think it has to be at least 30 million and with De Bruyne sold, I really cant see Mata going as well this window, especially to United. If Rooney wont sign a new deal, a swap wouldn't be the worst idea all round but straight cash, seriously doubt it.
I don't think Mata is the type of midfielder we need, we need a all round central midfielder who can play in a 442, not an attacking midfielder who needs holding midfielders behind. Mata wouldn't even get in our team unless Rooney was injured. Mata may have been worth 30m+ after last season, but his stock has dropped considerably since has been dropped from Chelsea's side, so is not worth anymore than 20-25m
Don't forget that his wages are pretty high, so Chelsea will be looking to offload, as what's the point in paying a player mega bucks to sit on the bench. Id be amazed if he goes for any more than 25m, as the team buying him will have to honour those wages on top of the transfer fee
High wages? He earns around 60-70k p/w. Considering ashley young is on £100k + it doesn't seem so high, does it?
Brilliant!! Mata is a far better number 10 than Rooney but taking that argument away, Mata can easily play wide where he is better than every single one of your wingers. But I agree you need a 'Scholes' type more.
Rooney is the best number 10 in the division, that's why Mourinho is so desperate to get him, when he already has Mata
I reckon Chelsea would be open to a loan. Mata comes United til end of the season, Mata would jump at the chance ( world cup year, play time ). United have a proven quality player, Valencia gets taken out back an put down.
Why would we do that when we just sold de bruyne? One injury to any of the trio and he'll come straight back into the side.
I imagine you are making him very unhappy. Hes the best Attacking Mid you hve but you dont play him.... almost as mental as the way United do things, play inferior players in the positions you have some of your best players...... It would very much be a case of Mata pushing for it. I'm sure he wants to play at the world cup but I doubt hes going right now.
