Am I right in thinking you can't actually reject a resignation? Only an offer to resign?

Reports from Adam Blackmore saying that it isn't true. God I hope he's right...

Am I the only one wondering where all this new is coming from since there has been no comment from the club?

I still think it's just part of the game. I doubt Cortese would simply walk out and leave us to pick up the pieces - at the very least it would damage his reputation too much. Not even all the available rep on this forum could repair that.

If true, the worst thing to happen to this club for as long as I can remember

Let's face it, if Cortese goes, the club will continue without him, and he'll be just as memorable as other Saints greats ... a chapter in Saints history.

Cortese's aim was that if anyone was to leave (including him), the club would continue as if nothing happened, as a structure had been put in place. We'll see this happen, and the club will carry on as normal.

From what I have seen all the press have to go on is some only quotes from Pochettino from the end of last season.

I will wait for the club to say something... Until then I will be checking newsnow to see what's apparently going on.

"Nicola Cortese hands in written resignation" on the breaking news ticker. The anchors aren't actually talking about it, presumably because Sky actually knows very little and has nothing to add.

That's all well and good, as long as the person who replaces him believes the club structures to be correct and the way forward.

To be fair it wouldnt be as bad as people make out, Cortese has done most of the hard work already. Although i would presume that our transfer budget would drop down a lot

If this is still brinkmanship, man, the guy is a hell of a lot braver than I am!
