http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...-powell-blasts-worst-performance-9060452.html Haven't really seen Chris Powell blast the team publically before, though the criticism isn't as scathing as some of the other managers you read about. I might be criticised but I'd rather not have another game to bother with.
I saw these comments and have to admit what I read between the lines was 'I do not want Stephens cup tied because we plan to cash in on him' Re Solly, I hear that his knee ligaments are shot and we could be having to nurse him through weeks and games a la Ledley King. I fear with the state of the pitch only away fans will get to see Solly in action until it is sorted.
Stephens could have been ill earlier in the week causing him to miss training and even if fit now, not be 100% because of that
Why risk assets like Solly on that pitch ? He could turn and get his studs stuck, and that could literally be the end of his career. When I left work last night I hovered at London Bridge for ten mins undecided whether to go, or catch the train home. I took the latter option. The Club should be very worried when fans like me who normally only miss a game out of fear of death stop going. Thats where hoofball and crass postponements get you. Like dick i find it very demoralising at the moment. Why can't be buy some decent English Championship standard players that our fans can relate to, instead of a French goalie on loan we don't need
After not missing a home Cup game for years I finally got the message and didn't go, thank God. The fact is that we are a ****e Cup team, always have been, even under Curbs in the Premiership. I'm not surprised we were dire last night, I said before the game that we may well lose, but I don't read too much into it, because it was the Cup, and that's what we do.
