Loach could be looking to move on according to TWTD http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/24409/loach-could-look-to-move-on

Reading the article it seemed to be a headline grabbing question, a number 2 i don't think would ever answer, "I'm happy sitting on the bench", and in another article he's quoted as saying he couldn't imagine a better place to come to work everyday. So there's probably little truth in it.

Beg's the question though, would we miss him? Who would we get in to replace him? IMO there would be nothing wrong in sitting Crowe on the bench in the event Loach does leave, would leave us short on cover if anything happened to Gerken but could only be good for Crowe's development

A bit of artistic license from phil in terms of the headline.. I've always thought Loach has a good head on his shoulders and speaks a lot of sense and has done again in this instance. Naturally he will be looking to play matches

I have made no secret of the fact that I don't rate Gerken particularly, but that said he has been good for us this season (with the occasional blunders)

The two keepers are 'much of a muchness' in terms of ability... Gerks has the bonus of being a very good shot stopper but both never seem too far away from making a complete howler..

I am happy with either of the keepers we have (Gerks has played well enough to warrant his regular inclusion) but long term I feel we need to bring in a better keeper to help us push on as both will cost us a few goals a season

I agree with KOPR, Both keepers are very much the same in ability, although i think Gerks is better in commanding his area and communicating with his defence, whereas Loach is an extremely good shot stopper but does tend to flap a bit.

Would be sorry to see him leave, because its good to have 2 good keepers pushing each other.

Pretty much agree with what has been said. Neither are great anything other than average IMO, although I do prefer Gerks, I always like a GK who likes to command his box but then I think Loach is a better shot stopper. Think one of them should go in the summer and I think if we're going to be serious next season we'll need a better keeper.

I for 1 think Gerkin is getting better and better and I'm happy for him to stay our no1. Loach is a good backup .
