Exactly. Where do they draw the line? What exactly would they take from Mr Allam before they said no? What **** would they accept before they resisted? How far would it have to go?
How do you work that out ? the guy just talks gibberish and what's smart about writing off millions of pounds ?
Before he bought Hull City, nobody had hear of him. By the time he sells up, nobody will be able to forget him. This will do him and his business no harm at all in the long run. All about legacy apparently.
All publicity is good publicity is a fair motto for X Factor/ Big Brother style pricks, not serious businessmen with a reassuring CV.
or until it goes into administration and, eventually, liquidation under the burden of crippling debts incurred whilst trying to keep suckling at the PL teat. Still, liquidation isn't as bad as it used to be.
I've seen another part of the interview on SSN. He said he'd be naive to let 1% or 2% cloud his judgement. He still doesn't get it.
I have no reason to doubt his word on this. If the FA turn his application down (something I don't see happening) a totally different club will evolve. It will be Allam free and that will make many people happy. Others will be unhappy and many will be apathetic. We can do a poll on peoples feelings this further down the line.
We would not be fxxked if Mr Allam left, it would just be different. By the time he leaves, wherever he leave the club, many would consider it the best trip they had ever been on.
That will depend on the new owner and how much money they have. With the debts we have Hull City Tigers Limited is worth a £1 at most. If Assem Allam wants to leave within 24 hours he'll have to write off a large part of his £80 million debt. Depending on how desperate Assem Allam is to sell we could see the club sold for £5 million and the Allamhouse debt written off. Not a bad price for a mid table premier league team with no debt.
He also said to prove it was more like 60-70%. What happened to him proving the name change would generate the money he estimates?
Fair comment and a bit of reality at last. Whether you meant the owner or fans that don't like it doesn't actually matter. Either way, those left behind will deal with it. Silverware, we don't care, etc.
Funny how he didn't explain why he hadn't carried out a survey to find out. I think he's misunderstood the fit and proper person test, and tried to demonstrate he's a person having a proper fit.
He doesn't have to write off anything. He may make a small loss over the period of time he is here (he may make a small profit). He does not need to blackmail anyone. It is not blackmail, it is business, pure and simple.
If his research proved it wouldn't generate any extra income he'd after question himself....and no one questions AA not even AA
Russell Bartlett kept his mouth shut and he had a bloke called Duffen as the club mouthpiece. Different owners will have different attitudes and strategic ambitions. Some will do better than others. As fans this sort of stuff is out of our control. I tend to judge the method against achievement. After all it's a result driven business.
A large part of the interview isn't covered by the media. "I'm here to save the club and manage the club for the benefit of the community - it will never, ever be the other way around - take it from me. "But the community can say "go away" and I will go within 24 hours. "They can have it if they want, but it is a minority, normally the minority shout louder. I don't go by that, I go by the majority normally, you know this from many many examples. "I haven't met more than two in the last month who say they would rather keep the name and play conference, I've had two people saying that, luckily only two. "But if the majority are saying that then no harm done, just as soon as I know that it is the majority, and it is not the majority, then I go, I go with a smile." When asked what would happen if the FA said he could not change the club's name, Allam said: "The same thing. It's a free country. There are no two ways about it - I have never said something and then gone back on it. "I don't think it's a big issue actually, it's a big issue in the media's mind and the media are aggravating the situation because it suits the media. "I mix with many people here in the area and outside the area, and it's not a major thing, the feedback I get is "we don't care if you drop City as long as we want to wake up Saturday morning and go to see quality football, and see the top players, some of the top players in the world playing football in our back yard". So I don't see it, from their life as a big issue really. "We are unique, Hull Tigers are unique, we are the only club not forcing the issue, owners are not forcing the issue." Hull owner Assem Allam says Nikica Jelavic will complete his move from Everton to the KC stadium.
