http://www1.skysports.com/watch/vid...y/9115932/allam-to-go-if-new-name-is-rejected On a day that we break our transfer record........
Impeccable timing as always. Despite all he has done for us, all he has spent and continues to spend, it is impossible for me to like him. Even slightly.
I applaud him for saving the club, making money available for signings. But, to think he's beyond question? He should stay out of the media, he's not showering himself in glory.
Leaving the "He can't walk away, he'll sell" bit to one side the fact is that on a day when all fans should be excited that one possibly two new strikers are joining (and one for a record transfer) he feels the need to grab the headline.
That's what the Jelavic and Long transfers are all about. If he walks we are thoroughly thoroughly ****ed. Never mind Hull Tigers there'll be instead. That blank space means there won't be a bloody club. He's that petty at times I wouldn't put it past him to stick by his word either. Makes staying up essential, someone will buy us if we're a premier league club.
Oh .... for ****s sake! Why can't he keep his big mouth shut? Don't we have any PR people working at the club? He should be kept as far away from the media as possible
The silly old fool - he's far too stubborn for his own good. It is plain to see that he won't go back on his word, even when he knows he is wrong. Nobody wants a name change, but it is starting to get to the point were he isn't even listening to opinion, and despite the campaign doing a brilliant job, it is in a way rendered pointless when aimed at Assem, as he clearly isn't bothered. It seems the easiest route out of all of this is to let him change the name, then in a year's time when £0 of merchandise has been sold and no extra interest from Asia has come in, then campaign for the name to change back. He says he's doing all this from a business point of view - well if he's losing out on money because of it, the sensible thing to do would be to change back. As many have pointed out before though - why has nobody asked him why he isn't focussing on more local support first? He talks about 'Hull Tigers' being a global brand, yet we can't even outstock Hull FC locally.
The club isn't worth half what his debt is, either he writes half of it off, or he's going to stay exactly where he is. And some people still think this bloke is some sort of business genius? Jeepers.
He's a hateful man. Nothing is genuine or philanthropic. The two big deals we're doing now are sweeteners. For the fans who can be easily bought, and Bruce who he needed to silence. If he cared about the community like he used to say, he'd listen to them. Thoroughly hateful man.
"i've never said something and gone back on it" oh allam, you really are a moron sometimes.. we don't know when this interview was made, i'd take a guess and say it was atleast 1-2 months ago...
