I'm not overly bothered about the result, but I just hope: 1) CH plays Hooper and RvW together again so that they can try to build up some sort of understanding. A lot of the time yesterday they seemed to be getting in each other's way. 2) CH gives Fox another outing after the MOTM performance in the first tie so that we can judge whether he genuinely could cope with being back in the side for Prem games. We need to turn things around quickly in the league, starting with a win against Hull.
I agree completely, would also like to add that CH should play Rusty instead of Whitts. The strikers were are most expensive signings, should like to see them playing especially considering our midfield injuries.
quite looking forward to this game actually, as there isn't as much pressure for both teams. could be quite open. hopefully we'll take a few to cheer the boys on It's on BT Sport so i'll be watching plus TalkSport commentary COYY
I'm not too bothered about the result, although it would bring some much needed confidence if we were to win. I will be happy if RvW scores, just feel like he needs a goal to really kick on with his performances. It would also be nice Howson come back from injury ready for the weekend, as he is severely missed I feel.
Our esteemed manager was interviewed on talksh*** this morning. Says there'll be some rotation tonight, and insists we're not done in the transfer market.
I'm well up for the game personally, it's only three tube stops from where I work and I can actually see the ground from where I'm currently sat on the 15th floor of my building. £15 for a ticket as well - can't say no to that! Fingers crossed for a good game and the win, fancy a little cup run this year I do - come on you yellas!!
Tonight's team: Bunn; Whittaker, Martin, Bassong (c), Garrido; Fox, Johnson, Snodgrass; Redmond, Josh Murphy, Elmander. Bench: Ruddy (GK), van Wolfswinkel, Fer, Hoolahan, Becchio, Ryan Bennett, Jacob Murphy. Who predicted Elmander as a lone striker??? 3 wingers though, so this might be the 4-2-3-1 with lots of movement behind Elmander that a few of us talked about the other day. Fulham have gone for a strong side: Stekelenburg; Riether, Hangeland, Burn, Richardson; Karagounis, Sidwell; Dejagah, Kasami, Kačaniklić; Bent. No Dempsey which is surprising.
Quite a strong team really. I imagine Snoddy will play in CAM, should be plenty of attacking options. Strong bench too.
Yeah, of the three Snoddy is best suited to starting centrally, although with Redmond and Murphy as our wingers, I fear our full-backs might be a touch exposed.
I certainly hope Snod is the one playing the CAM role though there may well be lots of switching between those 3. I actually really like the look of that line-up though I would have rather seen one of Hooper or RvW up top.
I think it's a good selection, I'd like to see RVW on at some point so he can get another goal under his belt.
I would say that maybe Elmander is not the best choice with Hangeland starting for Fulham, although I guess we have only just found out the line up. He struggles against pace and movement but is very good in the air, means we really need the attacking 3 behind Elmander to get at their defence.
