After many long months of not feeling inclined to write much about QPR, this allegation by Puncheon (which I really hope is untrue) got me thinking again about how it's sometimes really hard to like the game of football: http://thisismyengland.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/no-more-heroes.html
Deleted or not, I can't see how NW can ignore these allegations, particularly if they are spread widely which is likely to be the case. Goes to whether he's honest or not. Either way, Puncheon's a grade "A" muppet. If you're gonna make these kind of claims, then make sure they're true and stand by them
He obviously copped the hump about NWs comments on the penalty miss, but to be honest I thought they were ok. He said JP is not the sort of character you want taking penalties. He also said he would score you a brilliant free kick but get someone more level headed to take the pens.
It all goes back to when Warnock bought him, then didn't play him. He seems to be suggesting that the real reason he didn't make the team was that others were paying Warnock to get into the side. Agree with several of the above. The guy is a muppet.
Welcome back TIME.....have missed your ramblings on here. What you said sums up the season so far in a nutshell, lets hope that the 2nd half performance last saturday becomes the norm from now on.....
QUOTE Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon could face legal action from Neil Warnock following a series of tweets in reaction to criticism of his penalty miss at Tottenham. Puncheon - whom Warnock signed on loan when manager at QPR in September 2011 - spurned the chance to give relegation battlers Palace an early lead at White Hart Lane when he blasted his spot-kick horribly wide. Spurs went on to win the match 2-0 as the Eagles were left bottom of the Barclays Premier League. The 27-year-old came in for criticism from many commentators over the weekend, but took exception to comments from Warnock in his role as a pundit on talkSPORT. Puncheon, who is on loan at Palace from Southampton, has since deleted his posts - copies of which have been seen by London24 Sport. Warnock, sacked by Rangers in November 2012, revealed he had been alerted to the matter and was now considering his next course of action. “He’s made comments that I know nothing about and if it’s been suggested that I’ve done anything untoward then I can confirm that I most certainly have not,” Warnock told the Daily Telegraph. “The matter is being addressed with him directly now on my behalf.” Puncheon left only the following post on his official Twitter account. “In the wake of a bad penalty and people’s opinions and banter which I accept @mattletiss7 on @talkSPORTLive this morning gets it right.” One earlier Tweet had read: “Everything else is banter and opinions and as a man I will live with that which is fine but I will not live with his opinion.” Warnock had not held back in his criticism of Puncheon during his comments on live radio. “There’s no way I would’ve trusted him with a penalty. You’ve got to have somebody a little bit more cool, and he’s not like that, Jason,” he said. “He can whack a 35-yard free-kick in here and there but a penalty, with all the pressure on him at a place like White Hart Lane - not in a million years for me.” Warnock added: “I think a centre-half might have done a bit better! Obviously, he never meant to put it up there.” The Football Association has not made any immediate comment regarding Puncheon’s posts, which it may consider brings the game into disrepute.UNQUOTE
Thanks. I've been writing. But not about QPR or even much about football in general. As the piece states, I've continued to go to games but I'm just not feeling the visceral buzz I once used to associate with following the club. I hope it returns. Or maybe I'm finally feeling properly middle aged and life in general is set to be a slow descent into ennui from now on. Time will tell, I guess.
I know its a joke site but apparently he posted it before this came to light and you'd have to be pretty sure its correct to post something like that which could be libellous.
A fair point. That said, I wouldn't necessarily make assumptions about WATRB folk having the wit to realise they might get done for libel.
It would be silly to put anything possibly libellous on the net. If I knew something like that I would only ever say it face to face. Like if I met you Flyer, it would only of been said in person.....never in writing.
would explain some of the stupid signings he made at Leeds Michael Brown got a new contract after he played the exact amount of games to get him a year extension
