Honestly, when COL told me she was a bloke I believed him. She's one weird looking bird. The only thing that kept me thinking that maybe she was a woman was that she hadn't a fu*king clue what she was banging on about
Really just good natured stuff Beth, friendly banter. I'm staying out of all the fisticuffs. I have no issue with Flyer, but not surprised at a bit of the baiting here following the Ipswich game, where O'Neil & Henry performed quite adequately. Regarding my points - Eeyore (aka Flyer) - under a rain cloud and Beth & Flyer at the match, in the "raw" - buff (as in the Garden of Eden) - as a quiz person, I'm surprised I had to explain?
The board members who've met up with one another aren't exempt from criticism, just because they can vouch for one another's quality of character. I'm sure everyone's a good laugh in person. It will always be the case that people are seen as the sum total of their postings, which is fair enough. I can't imagine Flyer minds the stick he gets anyway- he's very vocal with his thoughts, and must know this means that they're always likely to attract more criticism.
You didn't have to...I understood. Actually the Eeyore reference is deliberate and it is exactly how I see Flyer (sorry Steve!)...always a bit under a cloud...but really good hearted. and the raw reference was right too...Against Donny I think we had both resigned to a draw...and when the goal went in....pure and absolute relief.. Flyer and I were at the Wigan match last year too....I saw it again then....pure relief and joy when Remy scored....absolutely wiped out nothing...when Wigan equalised. He just got up and left. No recriminations, nothing..just what I felt...raw. I have experienced raw emotions "supporting" the Rs, I think that is why I keep coming back...and it is why Flyer (we all) gets so angry. It is important to us. Other life experiences poke their heads up every now and then (and we realise that it is not THAT important....but when in the run-of-the mill everyday sort of life stuff...it is important to us all. With that deep philosophy...I will go off and watch Sherlock
Steady Sheff. Keep those thoughts in check. If you're having trouble, try this : http://www.amazon.com/Pray-Gay-Away-Extraordinary-Lives/dp/0814786375
This is getting a bit of a love-in.... "Sheff and Swords sitting up a tree..................."If we are not careful the mods will shut this thread down FYI Oddball said he was taking a breather over Christmas, during the bad results times...he was promoting the we win by 100 clear points ...point of view...and i remember him deciding to take some down time, to clear the air. anyway night night lads...of for a dose of "Sherlock"..see you tomorrow
I was lucky enough to have a similar wonderful experience at the Charlton game when Charlie Austin scored that cracker of a goal at the School end where I was sitting, and to share the moment with Finglas, Flanman, Roller, Inky and the Irish R's. Admittedly it was just before half-time, so the game wasn't decided at that point, but still such a relief. I've had my share of lows too when I used to attend R's games 1966 - 1975 with my Dad at Loftus Road, and then the long journey back to Hampshire, under our own cloud, after we had just lost the match in the last minute, or conceded late to only get a draw. At least at Ipswich we already had 3 goals in the bag, so when we slipped up in the last minute we didn't have a settle for a draw like at Millwall.
