Thats it, whatever we might lose we will gain when we bring in video to help these useless referees.. Perhaps the Yanks have it right with the NFL. at least we have a decision that is 99% right most of the time... ARGHHHH>>>>>

I wouldn't want to go down the video ref route too much. It's frustrating when they go against you but I really do believe it balances out by the end of the season and wouldn't want to see one hour of play taking four hours like in American Football. Went once and was half frozen to death by the end of the game. Great as a one off experience but not what you would want every week.

It doesnt matter anyway we are not exactly aiming to compete at bigger than 8th or be productive in terms of trophies or champions league qualification and europa league qualification would be à disaster so ite a great result. Good day for the shop window .

Complete fallacy. It's just not true.

Decisions do go for you and do go against you during a season but what on earth suggests it balances itself out over a season?

Jeff Winter used to have a part of his website where he would comment on disputed referees decisions and had an "adjusted league" to show the effect. The year we went down if "disputed" decisions had balanced themselves out over the season then we would have finished mid-table.

I said it before today and unfortunately will say it again but video technology has to come in. The referees are just not good enough without help. Although some are simply just not good enough!!

Video evidence should be brought in when a referee requests ( as in rugby ) for goals, bookings, sending offs and penalties and diving/cheating. Also each team should have 3 "appeals" each half on same issues. If successful you dont lose that "appeal". ( similar to american football).

Jeff Winter was one of the worst referees I've ever seen and more interested in self-publicity than football so anything he says I'd take with a pinch of salt. When we went down we went down because we weren't good enough and too many of our players had no heart for the fight - no other reason.

Saying it balances out is just a way of saying that they go for you and against you. It may not exactly add up as it has always been the case that teams down the bottom tend not to get the rub of the green. I wouldn't want to see the continuous breaks for video decisions, but I understand that some others do. Referees make mistakes. Always have and always will. However, video replays don't always help. How often on Sky or MOTD are the pundits still arguing over a decision after seeing a replay for the 20th time and from the umpteenth angle? It's a game of opinions and interpretations. Yes you get howlers, but many disputed decisions are about interpretation rather than clear fact.

    This.

Poyet even blames Oswald for the Mackems spending the season this far in and around the trapdoor.
Some you get some you don't.

Lets hope Ashley and his cronies can see how we need more strike power upfront and get the freekin cheque book out.

I agree that quite a few times it may not be clear but then like rugby the review decision depends on what the referee has asked the video referee to clarify and the original decision either stands or it doesn't.

Also agree it is not a perfect solution but none are and this would mean more decisions were correct and fairer which surely must be the aim.

On the the time issue how long was the game stopped anyway? Just as long as it would have taken to review on video. Same applies for other disputed incidents a lot of the time. Would also have a big effect on diving in the box which you would hope would reduce in regularity or at least as far as the "ashley young" ones are concerned.

This bit I would be all for - especially if it was an automatic yellow each time they were caught.

How about automatic reds. A lot of dives are for penalties/goals or send off tackler.

There's definitely an argument for that where it's clear. It would happen the other way around if they got away with it.

I feel video reviews would take too long. It's a fast paced game, let it remain that way.

Video evidence should be used retrospectively for diving and a 3 match ban if guilty. It would teach the cheating ****s that they won't get away with it.

Diving is the thing I really hate most about 'the modern game'. It is killing hat is meant to be a gentlemanly sport, where you go in tough but give each other respect and behave professionally.

We should turn it back into a real man's game again. Anyone caught deliberately diving automatically allows the other team to get in a free-kick - as in a free kick AT the cheat. It will soon curb the likes of Young from 'falling' over Tiote's boot if the know it's about to leather them for real.

Ok it's extreme and never gonna happen, but I'd love to see the sight of Suarez's face with Tiote taking a run up for his free hit.
