Yes, but does this mean we will go for it now and tie him up in the summer? Or that Spurs have said it's not going to get done, so we are spending the funds now?
The way I see it, Sherwood has said he can come, but we are waiting until the summer to do it, freeing up some funds now.
Yeah, I think we'll only do the deal this month if it's to free up a loan spot. But we might want to keep the money available from this window's budget in case we go down and he's still happy to join us. If we go down I don't see there being a summer transfer budget beyond what we sell, so Bruce being able to say "come on, I did save the cash from January to spend now because we didn't need to confirm it then. (Although saying that I've just thought myself out of it, can't see the owners being happy with us saving some of the budget and then going down when by spending it on another player we could have stayed up)
Or it could be he has a cracking season here, Sherwood does well and he stays at Spurs, next season he's on an improved deal there.
I'm told Livermore is very keen to sign for us. That was before AVB was sacked so it could have changed slightly but he's definitely very happy here.
I'm sure he is happy here, he's playing regularly and we were clever enough to have him paired with Huddlestone in midfield. It'll have made it easier for both of them to settle. I'm sure he's be a lot happier with us in 10th place than he would be if we were 20th though, so committing to 2 or 3 years with us might be a bit more of an "avoid the question" area for him.
Aren't journalists wonderful? From the HDM: "The appointment of new head coach Pepe Mel is not believed to provide an obstacle to a resurrected deal and, with West Brom seemingly open to sell at the same price, the final decision could soon rest with Long. Sources in the West Midlands suggest the 26-year-old favours seeing out the season at The Hawthorns, but City’s interest will provide a test of his resolve." A mate who's a WBA fan and is at their game says he's looking dangerous and they're all kicking him. I hope that non-existent medical isn't this evening...
No you're missing the point sunshine. It is one thing to give a player some abuse but when it starts moving on to the wife it basically falls into the realms of cyberbullying. Also our fair city has had bucket loads of bad press which was actually improving since we won the City of Culture. This sort of behaivour from a bunch of brainless idiots could put us back years and not only that put off potential targets on City's radar.
Long should say to his wife, well you stay where you are, I am off to Hull, as that is where my future is.
And those brainless idiots = the entire fanbase of City? No, they don't, and that is my point. Every club has a load of ****wits like this. And anyone with sense would be stupid to believe that everyone is the same.
What compared to Sagbo's? I don't think he could have done much more, the keeper made a very good save or got very lucky. He got it on target, to be fair it would have been hard not to but he was so close he couldn't do much else!
I saw Roger Federer miss a really easy forehand the other day, and as a result now I think I could beat him.
Long would be a brilliant signing, but if it doesn't come off i hear Alfred Finboggason or whatever he is called is worth 5mill and might be worth a punt.
We must only give Shane Long until Wednesday and if he doesn't show any interested by then, we move on.
