What's your starting 11 with Jelavic & Long upfront?

As I imagine they would start together.

    .................Mcgregor.

    ........Chester....Bruce....Davies.

    Elmo...................................Figueroa.
    ..............Thudd....Livermore.

    ......................Aluko.

    ...............Jelavic......Long.

That's my choice with a good bench.

Sagbo (harsh on him I think)
    Brady
    Boyd
    Meyler
    Quinn
    Rosenior
    Harper

Don't think i want them both thinking about it haha. Suppose long would have to play slightly deeper but i can see that midfield being overrun.

    Maybe 442 ish

    Mac
    Rosey Davies Chessy Figgy
    Elmo JL THudd Aluko
    Long Jelavic

    with a bench of,

    Harper
    bruce
    macca
    meyler
    brady
    boyd
    sagbo

Unfortunately it seems like 2 up top is dead at this level and one has to drop deeper and help the midfield out.

Long wouldn't even get in your starting squad?

But I can't see us signing the pair, which doesn't bother me as I think Sagbo has the potential to be a really good player.

Would depend on who we are playing, and where (home or away).

Not sure we would often play them together, but it does mean that our bench suddenly becomes a strength rather than a weakness. This is important as the season wears on. If you study the last few seasons results you can see the weaker teams start to drop off as their first choice players tire.

Don't see why we've gone for Jelavic tbh. He's not a bad player but if we signed Long we'd have 4 strikers competing for probably 1 slot in the starting 11. There's no way we'd start Jelavic, Long and Sagbo or Aluko unless they were playing out of position. Don't think Jelavic is any different to Graham in terms of what we have

It will be a very strong strike force but can still see problems with getting Shane Long.
Will his wife allow him to join us? <doh>

He's not what we need in the ream, no better than we have in his position.
