Shola's 'Indian Summer' lasted all of two months. He has now reverted back to type. I understand Pardew's defence of him as he probably knows he is getting **** all this month. We're just gonna heap it all on Rem's shoulders and wonder why it hasn't worked out. I think Ashley will be looking thinking a striker isn't going to carry us into the CL so what is the point in investing? I hope I'm wrong but I' not convinced we'll be active.

A striker should be the priority above all else. Shola is not good enough and though when on song he clearly does wonders for the other strikers game, how often in his torturous career has he actually been on song? 300 odd games, 50 goals and many more bad performances than good. Cisse is not good enough and not even intelligent enough to form a partnership with another striker.

We have one striker. Therefore if we want to play two up top or change a game, we have to introduce a sub standard forward. Top teams have at least 4, teams like ourselves have 2 or 3. Pitiful is the only way to describe our attacking options.

Anyway Shola is out of contract in the summer. With any striker we sign likely to come from abroad, even if we are gonna be cheapskates and only have 3 strikers, surely it makes sense to give a new back up foreign player 6 months to acclimatise?

 

It's a good job we didn't lock Shola down to a new contract either.
Shola could only keep his brilliance up for so long before he went ****e again.

 

What are the bets on a remy injury on the 1st of Feb, after we buy no-one, whilst pardew claims he sent cisse to 'finishing school' and he will be like a new player, the only difference being he now plays wearing a monocle.

 

That'll add a touch of class anyway.

The Jonas to Norwich line is interesting too.
He's the type of player Norwich could do well with on a half season loan.
Could help lead them out of the clart.
