Anyone seen this in Sky sports? He can put together one hell of a team from his time at the club. GK: Davis RB: Clyne RCB: Fonte LCB: Lovren LB: Fox (biggest surprise but says he's his best friend at the club so edges it ahead of Shaw!) LM: Bale DM: Schneiderlin (says he'd pick him in a premiership XI not just a Saints one) AM: Idiakez (says he was a massive help and support to him when he first broke into the side, great guy apparently) RM: Chamberlain ST: Lambert ST: Walcott He goes on to say that most are still young and reckons they could be a top 4 Premiership side. So what does everyone think, forgetting picking his best mate at left back I'd say that's a pretty good side.
Well it sparks interesting debate/conversation, not only about our best players of the recent past but also about relationships within the squad. I thought that was what the forum was for, my mistake.
I know Idiakez was an interesting one, clearly chosen because of how well they got on. Not sure who else I'd choose that Lallana would have played with though.
I saw it on the sky sports website, think it said it was from Fantasy Football though so worth a watch.
I always thought he was a majestic player; absolute quality when he had time on the ball. **** penalty taker when it mattered though!
I had high hopes for Idiakez when he came here. I was largely disappointed by him and don't think he ever played his best football for us. Saw him a month or so ago in Ocean Village.
Idiakez was technically very gifted and had a good career in Spain and at Derby but unfortunately his legs were failing a bit when he got to us and then there was that disastrous penalty shoot out against Derby - the only player I would definitely have backed to score...
I get it, you want rid of Fox, but putting one of the world's most exciting attacking talents in defence is slightly bananas isn't it?
Was assuming he was doing it based on how they played while they were at Saints, for which Bale was predominantly a LB
