Chris Smalling from Man Utd. He thought it would be 'funny' to out dressed as a suicide bomber.....totally insensitive and in bad taste... although I suspect he would be the first to beel his head off if one of his team mates went out dressed in a white pointy hat and a pitchfork. **** for brains some footballers these days.

Some folks need to lighten up. If anything it makes fun of suicide bombers. Surely this was halloween and surely if you had seen one of your mates wear it you would have thought it was hilarious.

 

This will be one of those things which will clearly split opinion, no issue with that at all.
I think footballers have a responsibility as a lot of kids look up to them.
A suicide vest in any context.. even in jest is in very bad taste given the carnage and recent fatalities they cause.
I can see families of servicemen and even Muslims being offended here... it's something he should have thought of.
If I saw one of my mates in a suicide vest I'll call him a complete tit... don't get me wrong I'm not offended... I just think he's a complete tit for choosing such an inappropriate 'costume'... maybe a clown would have been more fitting.

The Sun ...taking the (false) moral high ground (yet again) ...maybe they could have at least tried ..true moral high ground, at least once in their history, before choosing to hack dead girls phones/ Hillsborough lies etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc ..

Not knocking the OP at all ..but the Sun is a venal rag, up there with the Daily Fail, for everything that is bullying,small minded, petty and downright dishonest, vicious and manipulative in the media.

Agree on the sun front mate. I wouldn't soil my arse with that rag and haven't bought it in years. They also seem to have a bit of an agenda against the Toon.
The only paper I ever bother buying is the Independent these days.

 

Staggering that this makes a headline. Recent news includes legal rape in Uganda, 10 year old girl push to be a suicide bomber in Afghanistan, and some proper journalism could easily expose FIFA to be unfit, corrupt and ultimately pointless in light of making every league in the World have to change their schedule.

Fcking hate the media. Wish they'd do something useful. But then, that's not the target market - I already subscribe to the Economist.

 

To be fair Smalling is stupid, what if the police had seen him dressed like that, he could have been in severe trouble.
