Fletcher has gone off injured, hopefully that will kill ANY potential interest in him. He has been ****e, I wouldn't pay £1mill let alone the price touted by the plastic Geordies
A willing runner who puts himself about and is decent in the air is just not what we need. Sunderland went forward quite well whilst he was on and I can't remember seeing him in great positions or making really positive runs. I was never blown away but after that it's a no from me.
What is our transfer budget? I would guess it was max 7m but with the offloading of players and income generated by it maybe 10m? That could get you the striker and Livermore on permanents and another on loan.
So Fletcher injured, a few bookings picked up (Bardsley's was his 5th, but I'm sure the deadline for the suspension has passed), and leading after the first leg. Lets hope some players start looking forward going to Wembley and drop some extra points in the next few weeks.
Lets hope that they were going to use the sell of Fletcher to fund their January transfers. Fletcher being injured might be a double blow.
So would I and probably most City fans. But the difference in valuations, £8m for Fletcher as opposed to £12m for Rhodes, is a big factor.
Skybet 2 minutes ago Celtic and Hull are neck and neck in the race to sign Steven Fletcher from Sunderland. They’re both 6/1 to sign him this month, with Tottenham lying in wait at 7/1.
I take it they mean neither of us has managed to get further away from the rumour than the other yet.
