Check the transfer window thread Would be a good signing if we can get him in early, as Hull are also heavily linked with him.
just have - some fine goals there - he looks promising but if there are Prem clubs sniffing then unless he is a particular buddy with Knocky etc ...
This one would be a big surprise, seems we are the only ones to have had a bid made public, maybe only ones sofar to bid... Looks like the french winger is done though so not too bad today.
Apparently he signed a pre-contract agreement with them in December, but anyone can bid for him now as Lazio haven't actually signed him- they'd have to do so in January. http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2013/filip-djordjevic-agrees-pre-contract-with-lazio-what-next/
It's £820,000 more than they bid, but agreed, you'd have to be a bit foolish to let a decent player go for that.
You'd have to question the attitude of a player who'd sign a precontract and then break it as well. I'm not sure if he was prepared to do that he'd be the type of player you'd want next season when in the middle of December you're (depending what happens between now and May) having cold trips to Sunderland or Newcastle in the middle of either a promotion push or a relegation battle.
People said that about Anthony Knockaert. He has been superb, this season defensively he is miles better then last season without losing his attacking flair
Yes, but they made the comments about Knockaert as a generalisation because of the style of play. I made the comment about Djordjevic based on specific actions, because in order to join you he'd have to show himself to be a player with absolutely zero sense of loyalty to anybody but himself, and who would turn his back on a club a month after agreeing to join them just because he no longer fancied it. If he was prepared to do that I don't think he'd be the kind of person who'd have the attitude to dig in for the team when it was needed. (I've said the same thing on our forum about hoping that if he has signed a deal with Lazio that we're no longer interested)
I think you've caught cliche-itis Ricardo.... in case you haven't noticed, Newcastle have become Le Toon (and pretty effective) and Sunderland just secured a first leg advantage in the capital one cup with a team hardly made up of likely British lads on their day off from working 'dahn pit' ... and as for the character of football players I'm afraid the majority are now mercenaries that would be more than willing to renege on a pre-contract agreement if something better comes along ... further I suspect there is already a get out clause in the pre-contract that allows for it ...
So there's no difference in attitude between your current players and the big money Sven signings then, and you'd actively pursue someone like Beckford as a signing now? I really didn't expect saying that if a player acts like a dick then they probably are a dick to be such a controversial thing.
There is an 'in this moment' difference in attitude admittedly ... but if someone was to come along and offer any of them double their wages overnight I suspect there would not be many left when the dust cloud evaporates...
You're spot on. The money had no effect on the players attitudes IMO. We just bought the wrong type of player. Some still are on high wages (Kasper, Nuge, Konch ect) but you can't fault any of their attitudes. We just gave too much money to ****e.
