15:00 Southwell - Taradrewe & Bold Tara (Just on stamina-packed breeding, nothing else. Both are Kayf Tara mares who should handle the ground and distance, with just enough form to possibly get them involved in the finish. So, a bit e/w at 5/1 & 9/1 respectively, plus a saucy R/F).
One nearly right still a good ew return at 8s for an outsider well done minimeeunlucky all those that backed the last king and good shout cats
What a stinking race. If I were betting, on looking at these odds, I would go for Barbs Princess 2 points @ 2/1 Dodina 2 points @ 5/2 Available 1 point @ 6/1
Irish Champion Hurdle entries: Hurricane Fly Jezki Our Conor Annie Power Un De Sceaux Thousand Stars Captain Cee Bee Could be a straight repeat of the Christmas race
I thought Mullins said he wouldn't run Annie against the Fly. It will be interesting to see which one runs. I hope it's Annie and she stuffs them all.
In that 2.30 at Southwell I see that Wadswick Court and the Earth Amber pulled 38 lengths clear of the 3rd. Could be a useful pair, mewonders. Deffo, worth keeping on the right side of both of them.
If only stick was around. Wouldn't it be nice to know how Present Trend rates against Wadswick Court. She makes her hurdling début on Friday 2:50 Huntingdon (Mares' Maiden Hurdle) PS Noel Fehily booked
By the sounds of it, ANNIE POWER will run in the Champion Hurdle and go for the big pot. Ruby Walsh said "she was getting useful experience of Cheltenham, albeit on the new course” – which suggests connections are planning on running her on the old course at the Festival. Assuming she doesn’t run in the Mares race, that means the Champion Hurdle and taking on Hurricane Fly. Speaking of Ruby and Mullins, new Supreme Novices favourite VAUTOUR is running on Saturday in the Moscow Flyer Hurdle.
todays racing stinks I couldn't be bothered to look at both cards so I used my brain I knew there would be posts on the jumping and not much on the sand so hence I chose the all weather lol
You're laughing but I was making this point half cut over Christmas. They should have worked her mark and saved her a Cheltenham handicap.
Great hilarity in our house as I'm screamimg "**** off, **** off" as this skinny runt came flying down the inside to beat my 3. Thought I had the race sewn up. Said it was a **** race.
Not really impressed with Charlie Hills in his first year. Today for example at Wolverhampton he has had two horses well backed and both have been turned over. The sign of a good trainer for me is one that knows when the day is the day and gets it right. It does not matter the calibre of the race for we know not all trainers are patronised by big spending owners but whatever you have got you need find its grade get it ready and fire it. On another note I have been really impressed with the attitude of John Gosden as he is sending his all weather horses out ready to win which shows a great respect for punters. I feel often some of the bigger stables use it as an extension of their training programme but if Gosden sends one he wants it to win which is good to see. I notice he has one in the last here at Wolverhampton that is really unfancied as its 5-1 but I have just had a little bet on it for the above reason. It's form says it should not be winning but knowing it will be trying its best and coming from that yard makes it worth an interest for me.
