Morning Peeps, Wow, that was embarrassing, and not just for us, the fans. After the 2-0 home drubbing from a team 44 places below us, McDermott called it a career low. After the match McDermott was more or less pleading with the board for extra funds indicating that his team were burnt out!!! Why then, did he not start with Abiyi, Cairns, Dawson, Thompson, Hunt, Green, Warnock, Tonge..... this list goes on. At least if we had been beaten with our second or third string team, it would have given our first temers a break, and would have given us, LUFC and the gaffer how our other players are progressing. Lets not forget about when Warnock got suspended and Pugh came in; it was like signing a brand new player! Did anyone understand Warnocks substitutions, Does anyone understand McDermotts substitutions or distinct lack of them? Is anyone else relieved that we are out of the Cup? We are only a few points off the play offs and with no distractions, and some decent investment, who knows? I felt as sorry as everyone else with the Leeds fans that had to endure the game, but should fans be allowed to boo their team? They pay their wages, so they have a right or They are my team, through the good times and the bad
Morning Elland Warnock ain't our manager anymore by the way (thank ****) I'm not unhappy we are out of the cup but I am extremely unhappy in how that came about, obviously everyone is. To go out in such a fashion, I wasn't even sure why he didn't play some of the fringe players as well, I never expected him not to play first teamers but the way he did it was quite poor imo. The tactics were different and didn't work obviously which tells him something but not as much as it could've done. I'm split on whether fans should be able to boo their team or not. Yes they do pay money to be there but it seems so low and backhandish to the players. There is no good that can possibly come from it but at the same time fans are rightly frustrated so its in the grey area of football for a reason.
Morning, just agreed with a mate (and, more importantly my wife) we are going to the away games at Brighton and QPR. Incidentally not many seats left in the home areas for Brighton On fans booing they have the right but I would be reluctant to do so, only for obvious lack of trying over several games - which is not the case IMHO - and shouting eff off at my manager and players - never We'll, never now NW is no longer manager I think the fact BM chose a strong team means he wanted to win, expected to, and wZs shocked T what happened as well as the fans reaction
Morning all I wanted McD to play some of the fringe players as i said in a post the other day. After seeing them perform against Blackburn it was obvious some of them needed a rest. Surely they would have put some effort in to try and impress and they should be good enough to play against Rochdale. I think McD has made quite a few mistakes over the xmas period. I only hope the abuse the players got after Rochdale doesn't affect them as their confidence must already be rock bottom. Lets hope we get some good news this week regarding takeover and new players.
morning all Not happy with loosing to Rochdale but To be honest not that bothered either it was the FA Cup. Let's start the usual crap about the league blah, blah, blah. We hear it every year.
Morning 2020 & others. How are you managing to go to the away games at Brighton and QPR when as far as I can see, the tickets have yet to be advertised? Saturday was bad & the fans who pay the players wages have every right to boo. But we're out of that for another season now and we may have more players coming in. Like someone else on hee, not sure why BMD didn't play a few of the squad. Maybe he wanted to avoid what happened to West Ham. Oops!
I bought Brighton tickets on their website, like any loyal Brighton fan would do ....... did not see any problems. QPR home tickets only go on sale to non-members in mid Feb, so have not bought those, just agreed with the wife I will do..... As I live darn sarf I tend to buy home tickets for our away games. Usually easier and avoids having to rub shoulders with those rough boys from Leeds in the away end (though its surprising how often I do end up next to another Leeds fan...................)
Maybe a blessing in disguise as it will send a message to the board that player investment is needed and not freebies!
Being a very experienced manager/director and man-manager I have a dilema:- I have a small team of specialists and a lot of apprentices and senior staff who are not as good as the specialists. Its Xmas and my small team is rushed off its feet, and there is an extra day to squeeze in because of a cup party. My specialist team is near to burn-out because I've used them every day, do I use them again for this cup party, and accept that some may get injured or burn-out for a couple of weeks. Or do I assemble a team of experienced operators who may not be as good, and infil with some apprentices, and hope I get a repeat booking out of them. I would use the other players and kids without a doubt for the following reasons. Everyone is on full wages so should earn them. We need to blood the kids and if we lose we lose in the right way. By doing what we did feilding a strong side we took too many risks and the performance was flat and tired. Stupid call from our manager. At least Big Sam told his board what was likely to happen, but he said that his best team needed to play in the prem and couldn't risk them for a cup game.
Who's going to stop them Elland not Me.In the old days we would just go smash the town up,boys got to let there steam off this is the pc modern way.
Morning, Hopefully, as has been mentioned, this game will be a blessing in disguise, one step back to take 2 steps forward. If being handed your pride on a plate doesn't give the team a boot up the behind then I dunno what will. It also highlights the urgency for investment so fingers crossed on that being expedited. I don't think we should boo our team off. To boo my team off they'd have to have started a mass brawl on the pitch or something. I'd never boo them off for simply not performing well enough, seems like a futile and counter productive action... though then again, I haven't a clue how it actually impacts the players... would be intriguing to find out from them, I'm sure to some it acts as motivation. I'd guess most players though perform on confidence and booing is not going to build that. I would much prefer that following a loss (no matter how humiliating), we launched into a round of MOT etc. Make the players feel the pride we have in our club, they'll understand they let the fans down and be more likely to come out next time eager to put it right for those who have their back. *gets down from soapbox* McDermott will have learnt from it, wouldn't be worrying about sub use or lack thereof.

Is it just me thats losing a bit of faith in BMcD?. Most of us here say he should have used the squad, used the subs etc, why is he always playing with the same players when he needs to rotate. Did he do that to show the board he needs money? Or did he make a mistake. The difference between him and the last 2 fellas is that he hasn't blamed the players. But he hasn't taken any blame himself neither?
Maybe not losing faith, but a bit of head scratching that you can't use the same eleven week in week out. You have to rotate, use subs, and look for signs of fatigue or burn out
Afternoon all. Got over the defeat now, but I can understand the reaction from the Leeds supporters. Personally I've never booed a side, but that's just because I can't be arsed. Tickets for the Wendies game have arrived, have to wait for my young lad to open them.
