Like I said ANSD, no if's or but's. No more excuses. He's there to score goals and he's not doing it. I know he's not getting enough service but he has to take his chances when he gets them. He's lacking in confidence, we're in the ****, and he needs to earn his wage. That's the be all and end all. I'm sick hearing excuses for these guys. What boils my piss is that there are a massive proportion of the crowd paying a massive proportion of their wage to watch a team earning in a week what it takes the crowd to earn in a year.
He needs the right service, it doesn't help when people jump on every mistake and ignore the good things that he does. He needs to score soon and get the support from the crowd or he will become the next scapegoat and lose all confidence.
Hull fan here, reading this is thread like déjà vu! When he was with us I always said he wasn't a striker but a better winger. His strength without a doubt was running with the ball at his feet at great pace and his crossing is fantastic. Why no manager or the player sees this is beyond me.
i do like the lad, and i think that dis-allowed goal against arsenal didn't do him any favours. We do desperatley need a goal scorer though and that fact cannot be ignored
Sorry RTB mate. He's already there. Yes, lack of service is an issue but he's no striker. He just doesn't have that instinct that you, we, saw in the likes of SNQ or SKP, Gabbi, etc, etc. he may well be a good footballer, but a striker he isn't.
He is a good striker - we just need to pass it to him, we need Bradley.
I'm guessing from the video RTB that we need someone who can pass the ball 2-3 yards to Jozy. Where could we possibly find someone like that mate?
Every game I've watched, the strikers have had so little service, its impossible to judge them. Fletcher is a proven scorer and he's not scoring, which says it all about the way the ball doesn't get to them in good positions. There's few good crosses. But Jozy has set up a few goals, I think he'll come good.
Maybe you need to watch the video again. He prefers to run onto the ball and shoot at goal not digging it out with his back to goal. With time our wingers and midfield will work that out and provide that simple 2-3 yard pass.
my next door neighbour supports hull................I'm sick of him ripping the pi** about dozy jozy he just says "6 million" then falls about laughing
say steve bruce and danny graham and knock his teeth out then fall about laughing then shag his wife again if you havnt already humped her then look out for the weaknesses, help her with the shopping etc, make a point of saying hello to her, tell her she looks lovely, he'll soon keep away, mark my words most of all let your lass in on it
Don't get that one - Bruce didnt pay £5m for Graham and it's a brilliant bit of business this 'try the player before you buy' lark if you ask me. If they're ****e then we send them back and you're stuck with them. If we now sign Graham from you for anything above £2m then you can rightly take the piss...
Yes I get it RTB. Give the ball in front of him, while he's charging in to an empty goal. Most strikers are happy to take the ball either facing the goal or with their backs to it. They don't make any distinction. They receive the ball anyway they can and deliver. Is that what he needs to score? What a waste of £6m if that's the case.
Me and all mate. I'm on the fence with him. But I know one thing, Fan pressure will never ever ever get a striker low on confidence scoring goals.
Totally agree. I doubt he comes on here to read any of this sh#t so I wouldn't lose any sleep worrying about upsetting him on here. After all this is a fans forum for expressing our enjoyment, elation and frustrations when the need calls. And if he's the true professional we all hope he is, he probably loses enough sleep without our help anyway. The facts are this; he can impress a guy like Klinsmann to select him for the US national team (and Klinsmann demands respect with his record, so his opinion is more than valid), he can score for them (against middling teams), and he had a great season in the Dutch league. But, he's not delivering for us and he doesn't seem able to change his game to deal with the lack of service he's getting where he wants it. That's what great strikers are able to do.
