I'm pretty sure Bruce used him last season and realised he was not good enough. If Bruce really wanted Gedo here, he would not have waited until late October to use him... and even then that was in the cup
Wasn't Gedo brought in last minute due to the Shane Long situation, I think Bruce panicked and decided having Gedo is better then having nothing.
Craig, if you name Ash Lord when you're quoting him in your signature why do you not name the author of the other quote?
Yes, that's the one. Signed by Bruce, used as infrequently as it has been possible given our squad, and universally acknowledged (including by Steve Bruce) as not being good enough. You are the expert in facts and figures, how many of those were starts, how many were a full 90 minutes? How many were in "2nd string" games like yesterday? How many games could he have played in since joining us (please exclude those where he was unavailable because of injury or suspension)? And how many has Gedo been played in? How many could he have played in (on the same basis as above)? Personally I think Bruce is not seeing enough in training to select Gedo, Fathi, or Proschwitz, above whoever he has selected in the particular game. The same applies to Harper, who in my opinion is a great signing, but will always be behind McGregor, if available, because in Brucies eyes (and I agree with him) he is better.
Bit ****ing smart arse with your reply then if you only had half the story. I say Gedo has played proportionally more games then Proschwitz out of those they were available for. So he is more successful for us, and cost a damn sight less. So if he was Allams choice then he was better than Brucies choice, which he wasn't and isn't.
Proschwitz is Brucey's only **** up signing, he's allowed one. Gedo was only played when we had no-one else available and Fathi was barely played at all, despite looking half decent, you're welcome to any theory you like as to why that happened, I really couldn't care less.
It's obvious to see that the Egyption loanees were not really fancied by Bruce. I think most people on here probably believe they weren't his signings, unless you're just trying to argue with OLM of course.
Gedo did well last season then got injured. Bruce seemed happy to have him back at the beginning of the season. People seem to forget though he see's him in training and last season's squad are nowhere near the quality of this season. Maybe Gedo just looked ****. I never got the ****fest over Fathi either. People seemed to big him up just to have a go at Alex Bruce's selection. Or. We are signing another Egyptian who can carry loads of secret funds through customs for Mr Allam.
He signed Elmo at Sunland and Zaki at Wigan. He must like taking a punt on Egyptians, good work ethic, skillful or whatever. But lets keep trying to drive a wedge eh. If theres one thing i get from SB's demeanour, he's having the best time of his managerial career. Why? Allowed to manage how he wants to. Good relationship with the Chairman. And you know what if he didnt he could make noises about leaving and he would get snapped up his stock is that high.

OLM, how can you say that. Maybe 37 games, but 28 if them have been for the last 6/7 mins. He's scored v important goals for us and he has NEVER had the chances that Danny Graham has had FACT!! 1 goal and 2 assists in 19 games, the majority of them full games. His finish yesterday just goes to prove he is miles ahead of Graham who is a donkey, IMO opinion of course.
Gedo may have been sounded out by Allam, but I think there are 2 key points about both him and Fathi that disprove the theory that Allam interferes. 1. They were both late deadline day deals. If Allam really wanted them here for his own reasons he'd have got them in in good time. 2. If Allam did insist on bringing them here for his own reasons, and he does interfere with the football side of things, he'd insist on them playing. Fathi barely made an appearance, likewise Gedo this season.
