Going to open a can of worms here - What is the question which people believe should be asked, as we saw in Scotland the referendum question was not what the SNP originally proposed as it was not neutral enough.

Is it a general 2 answer one - What should the name of the football club be? Hull Tigers or Hull City AFC OR Do you think the club should be renamed Hull Tigers? OR Do you think the club should still be called Hull City AFC?

And will the FA phrase the question and if not who - as I don't see either Allam or CWTD accepting a question which they think is biased in terms of the other.

And to answer the question as to why those in favour of the name change are saying the majority aren't bothered - simples, if CTWD had a membership of half of the season ticket holders (whatever that figure is) then the majority would be against, and don't quote facebook likes as anyone can click on that including families of posters

There's no wonder that pathetic and apathetic are so close in many ways - it sums up the so-called silent minority - at least those that accept being a part of that so-called group. They sell theirs club's heritage down the swanky for no better reason than they can't be arsed. <doh>

There is nothing to suggest that a season pass vote would be any different to any other poll. But using the example of the polls that have been posted on here, the wording is going to be difficult. There is nothing in the rules that say every season pass holder has to be consulted only that consultation has to take place. The FA cannot demand that a season pass vote has to be taken. It can ask but that's about all it can do.

    If the question was this:

Without a change to the clubs name the owner will not invest any further funds into the club, do you give him your support? yes ----no

Who knows what the answer to that poll will be.

Conservative party members at the last general election was just over 250,000 yet over 10 million people voted for them. Should they only be credible if they have 5 million members?

Happily it's not for CTWD to approve or accept anything, least of all a poll question. They don't have the backing or mandate from the majority of the fans for that.

ah, the splitting of the hair argument. firstly the vast majority of people did not vote ie the not bothered if we are going to use your voting example Muffin, if as we are kept being told by the CTWD disciples that the majority of people are against the name change then logically they would be joining the group or have we got another percentage group "We are against the name change but we can't be bothered joining the campaign group and helping to fund them in their fight against our chairman"

Your earlier post suggested that CTWD needed 50% of pass holder numbers to be credible. I was merely pointing out that it does not.

    .......

    Hard one that omega man.

If that was the question no idea how I would vote.

If it was a Simple yes or no I would vote no.

If bits get added to the question my reply might be different.

    Maybe

I did not claim that Muffin - what I claimed was until CWTD have over half of the season ticket holders as members, the majority are not bothered.

Less than 25% of the electorate voted for them. How does that stack up to the pro / anti / not bothered name change figures?

We had the confidence to open it to anybody. I don't accept the distinction you make. Does holding a season pass to guarantee you a seat for the top six make you any more of an Hull City fan than someone who lives in London and watches 8 or 9 away matches in the South and has done so for the past 8 seasons?

If the majority are happy with Hull City or Hull Tigers it shows that an even bigger majority would be happy with Hull City.

AA claimed he was going to ballot all season ticket holders, but changed his mind within a week.

CTWD are still pushing for one to be done, the FSF think there should be one and we're still waiting to hear what the FA think.

If the vote is next month its all a bit academic. The lack of a ballot will be something the FA should take into consideration. How much weight they'd give it is anyone's guess.

I think it's too late to organise a ballot, as Mostyn has alluded to there could be many problems with the actual question asked. I would imagine the FA are more interested in the views of their commercial partners.
