Mauricio says we have to be patient with youngsters and allow them to learn from mistakes. A risk that most teams can't/won't take. Shaw will be back to his usual self soon...must be harder for him when the team is struggling. He was probably fearless when we were doing well.

I think (being one of them) that the people who listened on Solent heard the Merrington giving Jos a sad but genuine sounding negative review. Now that may be Merrington having his opinion but it would make it understandable.

My view is that he has the skills (he kept Jose out of the squad for a period last year) but he seems to have lost his confidence. That's not helped by the attitude of the fans who have moved to him as scapegoat number 2 after Fox (I think Jos has taken over from Guly since Guly's been injured). Players must know when the fans don't trust them and it can't do anything for their confidence. I don't know how they come back from it; I'd love him to, if only because of his clear love of the club but I think it's getting more difficult. People around me even booed him the other week. Sometimes I hate football crowds.

Ramirez 4 !!! same as Jos - I completely disagree , Ramirez did chase the ball and was not lazy and did not play badly today , he didnt set the world alight but no way deserves the same rating as jos , who again unfortunately looked uncomfortable in my opinion

I don't know what game you watched but it clearly wasn't the same one as me:

Davis - 6 - Should have saved the second goal, despite Hooiveld's calamitous defending. Distribution still woeful. Did make some good saves though.

Clyne - 8 - Scored a belter, was up and down the pitch all the time and read the game well. Stopped any Burnley attack down his flank.

Hooiveld -3 - Disastrous again. Looks nervous, sloppy and just not up to it, even against Championship sides. Has to go.

Yoshida - 6 - Did very little wrong and was composed when Davis and Jos weren't. Visibly frustrated with the crap defending around him after their 2nd + 3rd.

Shaw - 7 - Had a good game, made the occasional burst forward which create some opportunities for us.

Cork - 7 - Extremely composed yet again and I think he is very capable backup for Vic despite the gulf in physical presence.

Schneiderlin - 6 - Didn't stand out at all but did very little wrong.

Davis - 7 - Carried on his good form with an all action display. Deserves his spot in the team right now.

Ward-Prowse - 5 - Anonymous for large parts and distribution poor in comparison to what we've come to expect. An off day for him.

Ramirez - 6 - Nice display again from him today. Wonderfully anticipated + set up a great chance for Lambert at 2-0. Think fans expect him to be Zidane and unfairly criticise him - he definitely should have a future with us.

Lambert - 6 - Lovely goal but was clearly struggling for the whole time he was on the pitch. Difficult to rate him on what we saw.

    Subs

Rodriguez - 5 - was actually quite poor. Needs to improve his finishing + physical presence dramatically if he is ever to play centrally on a regular basis. Good awareness to score the 3rd when every other player had stopped playing.

Lallana - 8 - Fantastic again. Great goal and has natural talent on par with the likes of Gaston and Osvaldo. Finds space when there is seemingly none. Love watching him right now.

Fonte - 6 - Reasonable when he came on, difficult to judge his short cameo.

RLGB has Ramirez got nudes of you or something? Has he been posting dog poo through your letter box? The amount of stick you give him is ridiculous.. Yet if his name was Gary Rogers you'd say he was brilliant!
