Someone on WATRB said we're 6/4 now with some bookies (bet victor). We're favourite with skybet at 4/1, with Palace second faves at 8/1 Incidentally, we're 4/6 on with Skybet for Jelavic. 2nd faves for Nahki Wells, 3/1 (25/1 for Ings ) http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/transfer-specials
Bookies manipulate the market slashing odds so people jump on it thinking there must be something to it. I'm not getting too excited even though were favs with 2 bookies to sign him.
My only concern with signing Rhodes would be that in my opinion he's a very similar player to Austin. So, would Harry ever partner the two?
Watching Zamora and AJ, you just get the impression that neither believes they're going to score. I'd happily take 2 high scorers tripping over each other but filling the box (until they form a partnership) as an alternative. Will still believe it when I see it and the point about Harry thinking they're too similar is valid. Rhodes would cost a bit (8M for Blackburn to break even) - are we speculating in a big way this window?
Bookies are rarely wrong! if they make a horse or dog or any other fav, they know! bookies get inside info, that's why they light their cigars with rolled up nifty notes, FACT!
Sorry to disagree Eddie, but more often than not the odds are decided by what money is placed and to 'balance the book'. For example, if I was to bet £100k (if the bookies took the bet of course) on us to win the league, then certainly the odds would tumble.
This is true, but the bet would not be based on inside knowledge. Markets on player and manager moves can move very quickly once someone gets inside information. I'm hoping that the fact that HR is 4-9 to be next West Ham manager is based on ITK info. BTW, Zola is 6-4 for next QPR manager
Ings & Vokes at Burnley seem to manage okay playing together - each got a goal today at Southampton in a losing 4-3 cause - between them 31 goals so far this season.
