... with the words off, and, truly, well, wheels ... this recent run threatens not only our season, but our ability to attract "key" targets to the club ... why sign up if promotion looks improbable, and rubbish like Rochdale embarrass us? We know one target has already chosen to go to a Prem club, and probably a bottom third one at that, Stewart is being chased by other clubs, and any other available player of any sort of quality will be hunted by clubs keen to push on. I am genuinely fcuked off with this horrible effort by our players today, and ask why have performances dropped off? Is it because they know McD is looking to bring new players in? Is it because they can't cope with the pressure of representing Leeds United? I recall at the start of the season some of our discussions suggested that the club needs to stump up around £50m to rebuild the team and genuinely challenge for promotion. Right now that figure looks about right!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Same every fooking January ..... a couple of seasons ago we were top 6 all season and top for a week at Xmas. January comes and the wheels fall off and we end up 7th and miss promotion. Every year's the same
What pressure? They are playing f*cking football, not trying to diffuse a bomb. Despite bringing in a number of new players, the squad is only a bit better than it was under Warnock, while losing to Rochdale with your first team is completely unacceptable.
Said all along 10-12 this season but today made me think we will be that position for next few seasons Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here mate, I said 10th maximum but ready for an improvement the following year, I can't see it now. I think we have added to the dead wood Morrison, Hunt and possibly a very expensive mistake in Murphy and I can't believe Smith doesn't win 99% of headers, he is a giant that only scores from 6 yards or if the ball bounces off his head.
Ristac, you said it Smith scores. Don't care if they bounce in off his arse, at least he's scoring. He's far from being the finished article, butwould you like to go back to playing Veg Varney in his place? We are progressing, but very slowly. Keep the faith!
No mate I can't see the progress, we had Becchio and McCormack, we sold Becchio when he was on 19 goals this time last season, how many has Smith got? Before you answer that, how many has he missed
Becchio was our leading goalscorer last season. This season, it's McCormack who has a similar tally. Who was our #2 scorer this time last season? Had he scored as many as Smith? don't have the numbers to hand, but don't think anyone came anywhere close! One other point - if Smith is missing chances, at least he's in the right place at the right time. Not an easy skill to teach anyone. At least he's there, so the goals can come. Our other options to replace them don't get into these positions, so it doesn't matter how accurate they are, if they ain't in place, they will deffo not score. Give him time. He's getting the first part right, which is progress.
