Having picked up a total of six points having against the side ahead of us in the PL how does that make us top 4??? We have improved but have a long way to go to break into the elite group of the PL!! I honestly believe the gap between us and Wolves, two divisions down, is less than that between us and the likes of Chelsea as was illustrated in our two recent matches!! The evidence is based on our back to back promotions!! Wolves are a club of similar size to ourselves and when they eventually come back to the PL, they will struggle to enter the elite!!
Boruc is a decent chance but unfortunately I think Vic will be a bit longer, he'll have to get all his fitness back. He's probably spent 6 weeks in the gym
i meant the penalty was questionable, but then again our luck with decisions hasn't really been there this season... I still think we'll get something off you, hopefully we've turned a corner, now we need a new manager. Still think saints away was my favourite away day last season, everything went our way
He was just teasing...West Brom are obviously a good team but we will probably be favourites at least. Hope we can benefit from a decent rest which we badly need, plus a few players coming back from injury and your non-manager situation. Not many Albion fans on here, actually you might be the first ever.
Haha i have no qualms with Saints really, was a very decent day last season of course with plenty of action, but of course we had Lukaku to rely on. The biggest blow was losing him this season. We've had a dire time of it mostly, but thats the state of affairs in the premier league these days. The Championship is anyones game, the premier league is only between 4 or 5 teams to win. Yes there aren't many not606ers supporting the mighty albion. Westbrom.com, footymad and new606 are where most of our fans lie! Regarding the game, i solidly believe we will keep our unbeaten run up, but if we go a little hoofball like against the toon, we will get beaten. Who knows in all honesty! Can't see it being a sellout from us, Veeela away is round the corner, a must for many albion fans.
Don't know mate. Don't know how you get/lose rep. I've only got one dislike according to those stats on the side and that was minor misunderstanding earlier in this thread.
I was simply stating that a top four side should expect to win just about every game in that 6 game run. At least 4 or 5. Therefore, if Saints believe they can compete with the top clubs they will have to set their expectations higher than 10 points. I personally would be okay with 10 points as I'm not particularly bothered by us not qualifying for Champion's League. I don't know if I expect it, though. I really have no idea what I expect with so much stuff going on right now concerning injuries, bans, and reffing controversies along with the start of the transfer window. All I can say is I hope for 9-10 as I think that should keep us in the top half.
Had a great start to season, then a serious wobble where we should have managed at least another few points and kept in touch with the top six. We have probably arrived at our true position (for the thin squad we have). We should do well in the next couple of months, but after this barren spell I would settle for an okay phase that consolidates us safely in the top half. That will make this a decent season and set us up for next season after a few good purchases. A plan based on integrating good purchased players and academy players will inevitably be more of a marathon than a sprint. Started off hoping for 8-10th, had wild hopes of 6th, but now expect 8-10th...a good second season if that happens.
I suppose slightly less confident after Burnley, which is probably daft as it was a one off game and probably bears little resemblance to a PL game. I would have preferred that we had been more solid at the back. Having said that I wouldn't mind beating WBA 4-3.
