38 points from 26 is great, but I would like to think we could pick something up at Hull, although it would be a tough game. Think we really need to beat West Brom and Sunderland. We just never seem to beat Sunderland though. Very annoying.
Teams fighting for their lives can produce unexpected results. Remember we used to do it year after year. Would never assume that we would beat Sunderland or Fulham.
WBA (H) - Win Sunderland (A) - Win Arsenal (H) - Draw Fulham (A) - Draw Stoke (H) - Draw Hull (A) - Win 39pts from 26 games. If we get any less than double figures from these 6 fixtures, I'd worry that we've lost our confidence completely.
What's to dislike OddRiverOakWizards? You predicted 10-11pts, I predicted 12. My only point is that we have the ability to get these results (or better), and with these representing an 'easier' set of fixtures it'd be disappointing if the team had lost so much confidence in it's own ability that we couldn't deliver a healthier return (e.g. 10-12 points) from these. Edit: Please also note that tomw19, JustAnotherSaintSupporter, ImpsSaint, Khal Piego, spaced saint, & I Sorry I Ruined The Party all predicted expectations the same or higher than I did without the dislike. If anything my words pretty much match the latter's without exception.
OK, I apologise if I seem a bit harsh. My explanation is this: I think it is a bit arrogant to expect us to pick up these points or have lost it. I also think the chances of us not losing over the six are slim so to expect this seems excessive. I think some of us think we are divinely destined to get a top six finish and that lesser teams should just keel over. We were Hull last year. As I said perhaps I was harsh on you but maybe you were the last one I saw.
I expect us to finish either 8th or 9th, just depends if Newcastle tail off and we can catch them. With that in mind if we won 3 with 1 draw and 2 losses from the above fixtures (10pts) that'd be ok if a little below my expectation, but if we win 2 or less from those 6 my overall outlook would change based on that to wonder whether we were as certain to finish top half as I had thought previously. Not a biggy, just hope that we do recover and get the 10-12 pts we're talking about.
I really thought we played well against villa. Just the two defensive mistakes but the rest was pretty good. On another day we'd have won 6-3. I thought Newcastle was ok but not good. I wouldn't want another spuds performance or last half hour against Chelsea.
I hope that you are right but we have struggled to beat teams that park the bus such as Sunderland and West Ham. However, if they decide that they need three points then I think we have a better chance.
Agree with this. I'm not sure that being home/away is as big a difference against some of these teams as they're more likely to park the bus at ours, where they'll be under more pressure to actually play in front of their own fans which is where we may (fingers crossed!) catch them out.
Why do you have negative rep Latvian? Not that I can pretend to understand what that is, but I know it means you must have upset someone!
With the exception of Arsenal, they are all winnable games. We won't win them all, but I think we'll get a good points haul from the next six matches.
No offence guys, we aren't gonna just roll over in your next game. We are out to seek revenge after the debatable 1-0 loss at the beginning of the season. Think we'll get a draw after you guys will be rocked by the 3-0 home defeat and osvaldo has now been banned.
I don't think WBA will rollover but I'd be expecting a home win, even as a neutral. Osvaldo has featured for a few matches anyway, so 3 more matches isn't necessarily going to have a big impact on the team.
If you look at our form we've struggled against the top 6 since we lost a few first teamers but still outplayed most other sides even when we lost at home to Villa. Wil be very disappointed if we can't beat WBA.
debatable? Ok, I am happy to debate that. I say we won one nil; what do you say? My evidence: we scored one, you scored none. This has been supported by the awarding of three points by the Premier League to Southampton. The defense rests. Over to you.
Link me Stop teasing, show me where, who, how you heard this. I need more ............. pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Boruc said on his Instagram a week ago 'nearly there', so I'm hoping 15 days is enough to recover! Wanyama probably won't but it feels a while since his injury.
