You've got to assume the Crawford horse has for a chance tomorrow.

Not an all weather fan but I'm bored so I'll go for Luv U Whatever 14.30 Southwell. Up 5lb for his last win but that was his first run for 202 days and also ran wide so could be that 5lb isn't enough to stop him following up, especially as on his last run over this CD he was a comfortable 3l winner, eased towards finish. His 4 runs at this course read 1121. Appears to be a game sort which is always worth a few pounds. Upped in class but I think that could be said of all of them.

    1.40 The Starboard Bow

This could be thrown in if he retains ability. 6/1 for the inform Russell yard seems very fair this morning.

Absolutely ridiculous price for GOAL in the 1pm at Southwell, gone e/w because it's 25/1 but should win. Also done a treble of Jim Tango, Goal and Luv U Whatever

28/1 available with 4 bookies Chelsea. However, with 9/4 available through PP I would have to go with Tatting (was 6s on tissue last night but don't know if it was ever available at that price)

I see the 9/4 Tatting has gone already. PP still going best of all at 2s now.

His sire is leading sire in US/Eur, and sire of Street Sense & Zenyatta. The dam is by Mark Of Esteem out of a Royal Academy mare. If he isn't bred for the all weather I don't know what is.

So folks, if you have backed GOAL, have a little saver on Tatting to cover your stake.

PS. Goal now 33s (40s on Betfair)

Needs to find 17 Lengths on Tatting on form lines through Chrissycross and Kung Hei Fat Choy. I think the stewards will be asking to speak to Mr Smith should it improve past Tatting.. I've stuck a few quid each way on it anyway...

I'm already on the Appleby horse No Win No Fee 5/1 and Zaitsev 9/1 so going to have to leave Goal alone but best of luck all of you who are on

What a bizarre outcome there in the first at Southwell. Hope Dwyer is ok.

I fancy Tatting, Burren View Lady, Dansili Dutch and Luv u Whatever today.

Unbelievable - followed the late money for it and was counting a furlong out... :( you know you're luck is out when that happens. Hope Dwyer is ok whatever about the financial loss.

Afternoon, troops. Happy New Year everyone, and I do mean everyone. Hope 2014 is out of the top drawer for each and every single one of you.

Nothing for me today as the action is Poor with a capital ‘P’. Must report though that the quest to get Long Run’s rating down prior to the Grand National weights being unveiled is going a treat – he’s now on 163 having been as high as 178 just over 12 months ago. Also, Tidal Bay has shot up to 168 following his Chepstow heroics, last Saturday, so Mr Henderson’s Champion looks set to be some way off top weight at Aintree and have a lot of ‘ordinary’ handicappers allocated imposts very similar to his own now that his perch has gone into freefall. Long Run has not deteriorated at all people. These days he simply needs an extreme stamina trip. I’m on at 33’s re Long Run for Aintree and amazingly 25’s is still available!

    Good luck, all.

Dwyer knocked unconscious by that fall but thankfully regained conscious before heading off in ambulance. Course doctor in tow so delay to remainder of card.
