Harry Redknapp- "Leicester have got four strikers and someone told me they might be taking [Crystal Palace forward] Kevin Phillips. That would give them five"

Havent got a clue where he is getting that from or why he is saying it. I would have him but only in the same role Chris Powell had here

Loving the fact Redknapp is partly claiming that our squad is better than QPR's. We could always swap them Martyn Waghorn for Niko Kranjcar? We actually have 6 strikers for the record (Nugent, Vardy, Wood, Waghorn, Taylor-Fletcher and Schlupp).

If I post on Twitter we're signing Messi does that make it true?

Kranjcar is crap. He just shoots everytime he gets the ball. He wouldnt get in our team and Nigel would never want him

    What a complete moron.

He's only saying this as if to tell QPR fans that his hands are tied and he can't do any more with the squad despite it clearly being the best in the league by a million miles.

Honestly have no idea how he keeps getting jobs in football.

Just think a year ago there was talk of sacking Nigel Pearson and appointing Redknapp <laugh>

Other then Spurs he has never done anything in his career. For all he achieved at Portsmouth it came at one hell of a cost

Would I have ALF yes. Would I pay what Reading would want. No

Maybe someone to go after in the summer if we go up

Last time i saw KP play he was pretty poor and i dont think he will offer anything to us. Just get me a winger!

Cant see NP liking Harry saying that to the press though...

I do feel for ALF though, he clearly is their best striker and should be starting

Rumours that we've offered him a deal until the end of the season and an option for him to take a coaching role at the club.

I'd disagree entirely - yes he likes a shot but he is also an excellent technical footballer and had me worrying most of any QPR player when we played them ... he was central to most of their good moves in the game ...

We play fast attacking football. Phillips won't be able to keep up with our pace, with Taylor-Fletcher here already I don't see how you can fit both in

I would have him as player-coach but he would have to understand he won't appear much. If he did sign as coach he would help Vardy, Wood and Schlupp no end

And all of them came to nothing. Don't get me wrong he has ability on the ball but he can't tackle, run with the ball, beat his man or anything. He is a luxury player which you can't afford in this league. When the rest of the team a lazy bastards and don't work together you won't get much joy trying to be a play maker

I would much rather a Dean Hammond someone who is going to keep things simple and do a job for the team then a show pony like him. Kranjcars best days in England are long gone

A few wonder strikes in his time but not a great deal more

... nothing like a same sentence contradiction <laugh> ... so far Redknapp has achieved more in the game than Nigel Pearson I'm afraid Proud (and he is doubtless still a legend amongst Portsmouth fans - who undoubtedly enjoyed the good times ... I wouldn't want him as manager mind <laugh>

I think having both GTF and Phillips would be good.

GTF is useful for holding onto leads. His footballing brain and erm...physique <whislte> allow him to relieve us of pressure because he can hold the ball up and lay it off safely to bring on counter attacks (Dyer's goal against Watford is a prime example).

Phillips would come on for the last 15 in games where we need another goal to draw/win games. His speed won't be noticed much because we'd be pressing teams in their box. If he gets a chance in that period, you'd back him to score. So his pace won't be a drawback because he won't be needing it as much. His brain, his positioning and his movement will be vital and is really worth having IMO.

Dunno what 'arrys complaining about,he has 6 aparently

    Andrew Johnson
    Charlie Austin
    Bobby Zamora
    Tom Hitchcock
    Ray Jones
    Mo Shariff

I don't think we need Phillips, he'd fill the same role as we currently have GTF doing, we need to get players in that improve the squad, i can't see Phillips being chosen over Vardy or Nugent.

... then again, he has a proven record at scoring penalties in extra time of play-off finals ... not a bad player to hang on to <whistle>
