Lei - 13 pts Der - 13 For - 12 Bur - 11 Ips - 10 QPR - 08 Just goes to show how tight it is & that there is not alot of room for bad form. Take note NP, we all know what happend around this time last season. Lets hope this time next year we´re sitting mid table in the prem
Better to have done it before and learn't from it than having it happen again this season. Not saying it can't happen again, but like Pearson proved yesterday, we have backup that can come in and still win games at this level. I think we will need to strengthen further if we are to succeed in automatic promotion, but the squad looks alot better sofar this season.
If it didn´t happen last season it wouldn´t be possible for it to happen again this season would it ? lol The red part is true. We seem to be scoring goals yet I´m not convinced our FOR´s are, in depth, strong enough. Still we have 5 plus Schlupp so I can´t see NP bringing in another one. I´m not 100% sure on how strong we are tbh as I only see the odd game on the PC but I do have the text commentary on almost every week & I read the reports & see the goals (both for & against) & as I´ve said a 1000 times our DEF could do with being alot stronger, for the remainder of this season & for the next. The prob is, will top release the funds barring in mind LC´s strange contract situ. I guess we´ll have to wait & see.
If Top & Co want promotion im sure they will give some funds, as it stands we are the most attractive prospect this transfer window for any player looking for promotion and a chance in the prem, read Maynard going to WHU for peanuts rather than him coming to us for a fair bit more! Alot of teams around us are likely to spend a few bob, im not saying spend for the sake of it, but we know that there are positions in the team that can/should be improved to maintain our league position, its a shame that theres no decent forwards at other clubs with 6 months left on their contract, if only Ings had a 3 year contract rather than a 4 year one
We dont need a striker. Once Wood has returned we will be fine Nugent, Vardy, Wood, Taylor-Fletcher, Waghorn, Schlupp More then enough depth and quality Just bring in a winger because after Dyer and Knockaert there is no one
Strikers are fine. Just a winger who can play on either wing - loan perfectly fine but this Riyad Mahrez guy sounds alright - but if Dyer is injured does that mean AK on the left?
He is like Knockaert. Can play either wing Dyer can only really play down the left because he is too one footed and it's makes him too predictable.
I still think we should go for Sako. Mark Albrighton at Villa might be worth a loan too- he was at Wigan so we know they're interested in sending him out. I'm sure we could loan someone from Chelsea too- they have a glut of attacking midfielders/wingers.
Sky commentator Don Goodman Leicester had a mini blip but these players seem to have learnt a lot from playing Manchester City in the Capital One Cup (they lost 3-1) in early December. City were brilliant but since then Leicester seem to be moving the ball quicker and got better movement. They've gone on to beat QPR, Reading and now Bolton. That's maximum points from three very difficult games. They are flying and it's hard to see anybody staying with them if they continue that level of attacking performance. Manager Nigel Pearson won't be happy with some of the defending but going forward, they are fantastic. I wouldn't argue with any of that
Plus throw in the fact it sounds like we improved the defending at Millwall, although having not gone to the New Den I may need someone else's opinion here.
I wasn´t there either but I saw the highlights on `youtube` & we were abit lucky at times at the back & had KS to thank AGAIN once or twice, plus their goal was a DEF cock up. I´d have to say Schlupp´s goal shouldn´t of been as a foul was commited before hand, but still.
All Kasper was having to save though were long shots, which we know he can do pretty comfortably. You could argue that the defence pretty much did their job by allowing Millwall so rarely to get behind them where it's far more likely to score.
