So what? So it means you lost.

Hull have one home game in January which is Chelsea ......... then they have to play Spurs and go to Sunderland.

You can't say you'll sign a proper striker and it's possible you'll lose players, Livermore included who may be recalled.

Which proper striker are you signing?

That 9 points could easily be down to half of that by the time you play at Sunderland.

If you believe you're out of danger, you should think again.

Ellis Short has to be patient this time, I feel like finally we have the right man for the job and somebody who can take us to that next level. If we give him time...

Everything about this bloke fills me with confidence. Not only does he talk sense but he says it with intelligence and passion.

If he had been in charge from August, we would be comfortable mid table now IMO. Great interview although his decision to play Ji ( who was completely ineffective again) still baffles me. Against Carlisle next weekend I might have understood it but at home in the league? Strange one that for me.

    Still, we move on.

Massive few weeks you guys and a ****e start to the year to be frank. Fulham (A), Stoke (H) and Southampton (H) followed by the derby and West Ham (H), still got 18 teams to play this season but after this lot only around 4 of the 'bottom half' teams where you may be favourites going into the game.

You've got a good chance of getting out of the relegation zone in the next few games but if you are still a few points adrift by mid-February and looking at the run of games from that point it will be looking a touch bleak. But even if it comes to that Wigan have shown in the past that come the business end of the season its not who you play but how you play.

I do think that playing mid-table teams in the last few games is an advantage as people like Villa, Swansea, Newcastle, Hull, Stoke and Southampton will probably have little or nothing left to play for at that point but your run-in are mostly teams who will have something to play for.

ps. I've not mentioned the cups as I think only time will tell whether they are a good distraction or not! I'm unsure.

I'm getting a bit fed up with Altidore TBH. Thought he would have come on a bit more in front of goal. His overall play is beginning to remind me of Heskey a tad more than I would like...
