I am blaming Pardew... For putting Ben Arfa on the pitch! But yes, you are right he was only really as bad as the rest on what was a very poor day.

To be honest I think most of his critics are looking at his collective performances across a number of recent games...

 

Pardew's just **** at his job. It's really that simple.

 

Much as he can annoy me with his decisions at times, I cannot agree with this – massively unfair.

If anything he's pretty good at doing what is probably one of the toughest manager's jobs in the country.

We've probably got about the eighth best squad in the league and are currently eighth, and given the dross populating the bottom half of the league, anything less than tenth would be a disgrace. But that aside, my judgement of Pardew is based on his entire time as our manager, not a 9 game run of good results.

And no, this is not one of the toughest managerial jobs in the country. He has a ludicrously high level of job security, can name a good team of internationals from major footballing nations and has an increasingly embarrassing, docile fanbase who revel in celebrating the incompetent.

Thought we would struggle from the start when Anita was dropped for Ameobi. We are solid with Anita & Tiote but we wasted a player by playing Ameobi as he's too slow for quick attacks from defence and I think he gave away more fouls than anyone. Away from home we should stifle opponents and hit fast and when you have 66% possession you should ram home the superiority.
Looks like Colo out for 6 weeks and with Debuchy missing next 3 we could be in for a tough time although I think Mbiwa will step up. Glad to hear Nolan will miss our game after his sending off so he won't come back to haunt us.

 

am i the only one that thinks their player dived for the pen? tim quite clearly pulled his leg away as their player went down.

I have just watched both goals from our last 2 matches and in both Williamson played a big part. Giroud ghosted past him to score the header for Arsenal and Vydra left him for dead to get the pen. Hope old habits are not coming back as he has been pretty solid in first half of season.

 

Yeah but Coloccini had no excuse for the Arsenal goal either, from what I remember he was actually closer to Giroud.

The pair of them just let him run between them and in fact Willo ended up the nearest to him at least...

 

Unfortunately that will be the mentality of some. We should win every game you know.

Debuchy really should shoulder the blame for the loss. Idiotic. Pardew should shoulder the blame for the game not being easier, we paid today for the failure to do the brave but obvious thing and rest players against Arsenal.

have you noticed on your photo that not one Newcastle player followed up the pen
if Tim had got to the pen and stopped it, they (WBA) would of tapped in the rebound
