He has massive talent, he has the ability to be one of the best players to play for stoke for a long time.

3 important goals, if Whelan and Wilson hadn't been sent off vs Newcastle his goal would have been hugely influential.

Also Butland has started and Everton just scored an equaliser :( due to Pennant conceeding a penalty

Aye, they deserved a point, and Pennant deserves a kick in the hole. Was ****e every since he came on, would have been better playing with ten men

I went into the game being happy with just a point, but I thought that we might have won it.

First Whelan, now Pennant, one getting himself sent-off, the other giving away a needless stoppage time penalty. Idiots

    How did Butland play?
He would have kept a cleansheet apart from the penalty, but apart from that did he makes any/good saves?

If Sorensen is injured for a period then this is Butland's 'time to shine' and I feel that he should be Begovic's replacement if Bego leaves during the winter (highly unlikely) or when he leaves during the summer or another season.

Butland did nothing wrong and made a couple of good blocks. His distribution, and his kicking we're excellent. GUTTED to lose to a penalty and Pennant is a stupid twat. I hope Hughes does not play Pennant for us again. But we don't really have anyone else who can play wide and cross. WHY Adam and Walters came off? I don't know. Yes, they deserved a pt overall but we gave 2 pts away simple.
STILL I'm well happy with a pt and would have given my right arm for that before KO.

Assaidi is a massive talent... I honestly hope we can sign him. SORRY but WTF did Whelan and N'Zonzi do today apart from nowt? Both are far too slow/idle call it what you will.

I thought we played very well against the form team at the minute. And Baines dived at least twice and was not booked, someone put their boot into Adam's heel.. loads of decisions NOT given by that twat Mariner, yet another POOR ref.. but I enjoyed the game, we will be fine this season. Looking forward to who or whom we sign as from today. KTF guys.

I agree but I don't think we will get him permanently.

I actually thought Mariner was okay. Not brilliant, didn't get everything right, but he looked like Pierluigi Collina after Twatkinson!

Adam was looking absolutely knackered in the minutes before coming off, and I think Walters' legs might have been starting to go too after such a hectic schedule. It was obvious when he went off that we were missing something defensive on that side.

But I think that's the problem with playing Crouch up front on his own.. <ok>

With regard to Assaidi, I doubt it to Smither's. I suppose it's a case of does HE want to play full time football. His chances at Liverpool must be few and far between.

I think you have a great chance of getting him permanently. He fell right down the pecking order for us, in fact he didn't get 1 start for us last season and in truth I think Rodgers just doesn't fancy him (giggity).

Hope he keeps it up for you lot, has potential and now with a run of games he's starting to show it. Glad he won't be eligible to play against us!

I thought Whelan had a great game today. He does all the hard work, mopping up in front of the defence and hardly misplaced a pass (his pass percentage was the highest of any stoke player).

It's funny how we see the game differently.

I am surprised you thought Whelan and N'Zonzi did nowt.

For me they worked really hard. The only complaint I had was N'Zonzi trying to dribble out of the penalty area instead of hoofing it.

Shawcross was top drawer and Wilson again showed how valuable he is to the team!

I thought it was a terrific performance, just a shame Pennant showed dreadful temperament when he came on.

I would have settled for a point today before kick off. Pity it was not all three. It was good to hear the manager getting support !

Assaidi is looking excellelent, and he gets better evey game.
I hope we can snap him up, but I don't know what the chances of that are. From what I've heard, and has been mentioned here, it doesn't seem like Rodgers wants him. I've heard a few Liverpool fans saying they should have Assaidi back, even if it's just as an impact player.
Maybe that will change as the season draws on, or he could catch another teams eye. Hopefully he's enjoying his football enough for first team football to be more important than being a sub for a bigger team. You never know what will happen, but if we can keep him happy playing here, that's always something.

Can't believe the result today, yeah Everton deserved a point, but it was only a 92nd minute moment of stupidity that got it for em. I thought Pennant was lucky not to give the penalty for the first dig he had.
We complain about Walters not being good enough, but it really showed how much he does today, he got forward quite well and put in some half decent balls (which some might say is unusual for him), but as soon as he came off you could clearly see how open we were down that flank.
We need a better attacking option down the right, but not if it's going to leave us so one to oppositions attacks. Wich brings me back to Assaidi, who I thought did a great job covering and defending. Made one or 2 poor decisions, but for such an attacking player I thought he defended well, and it didn't seem to take away from his attacking threat either.

I thought Whelan and N'Zonzi had a mixed game, played pretty well, but put in a few too many sloppy passes, and Whelan sometimes looks a little slow off the mark.

And Shawcross had a cracker of a game, he played that well I got sick of hearing the commentators say his name! Early days yet, but I reckon that was England form, if he can keep repeating it.

What I am pleased about is that it looks like Butland can handle the premier league, but I guess you can't make a full judgement from 45 mins of play.
But from what was said earlier it does sound like he was good enough.

Yep we do all see the game differently. My problem with Whelan is simple. He's a ball winner just as Whitehead was. But his creative ability was almost zero. N'Zonzi?? well I thought we brought him in to do just that create and get forward. It's all oppinions and for me, he was just strolling around and did not close the ball down. I've also noticed that he play's more often than not (the easiest pass possible which is usually sideways or backwards. He should be getting into our box more as Adam did yesterday.

And shock horror, I thought Walters was fantastic on Wednesday as we're the other's. APART from Peanut what a stupid tackle. I also agree I thought his first challenge was a pen also.

Cannot believe that Pennant foul, so needless.

Have even seen a few people speculate that he purposefully tried to get booked when he came on (and not Liverpool fans before someone says something).

Not sure that's true but still... Assaidi came very close to doing his parent club a real service! He looks dangerous for yous.
