http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...ngham-Forest/story-20383747-detail/story.html To raise funds for our January dealings apparently, would be nice if we could get a bidding war going!
it's wierd i admit saying when we were linked with davies.. that hobbs walks all over him and it's daft signing but i'm a fan of humble pie.. rub it in my faces cos davies have been ****ing fantastic!! and i loved hobbs
I'd like to keep Hobbs. I didn't think the back 3 would get much of a run out in pre season and was still gutted to see the back of Jack. And don't get me wrong here, Alex and Paul have both been fantastic the last 2 seasons when played at centre half, but Hobbs is real classy and would be a real asset playing as that central kingpin in a back 3 IMO. I haven't been keeping up to date properly with football outside hull city this season, I know Jack got off to a great start but what kind of season has he had so far? Also, didn't florist pay a fee and we gave them permission to agree a pre contract? If so, what implications would recalling him have on all of that?
99% sure we cant recall him if they paid a fee, so I would think that they did not pay one. I forgot Jack was even still our player. Recall him and sell him, he clearly isnt going to play for us again anyway.
I thought that - I'm pretty sure he penned a one-year loan deal on top of a 2-year pre-contract with Forest. Having said that, that deal sounded very unusual - if there was no option to recall him, why didn't we sell him permanently in the first place? Also, how much could we really get for him with a few months to go on his contract? Quarter of a million? If that?
Surely owt's better than nowt?? We're obviously in a position of strength in regard to deals. The loaned out players have done well, Fryatt's just scored in the PL. We need to get as much as possible for them to fund a couple of players we need.
This is a ploy to push Forest to stump up money for him. If he has done a good job for them, and with them in the play off places currently, they will not want to lose him.
Jaggro the deal was done as a loan so that Jack still got his premier league wage for a year then dropped back to a championship wage at the end of the season. The deal was as good as a permanent transfer and if the pre contract was signed then its binding and can't be broken without penalty.
Commentator on Ipswich V Charlton game suggested today was Stewarts last game for Charlton. Time for these championship clubs to stump up so that we can make the necessary changes to our squad
He's played well for Charlton so maybe £300k with sell on clause just in case he rediscovers his very best form and a "bigger and better" club come in for him?
If we're planning to recall him in order to try and sell him then I really worry about the knowledge of the staff at the club. If you're selling a player that's out on loan then you don't need to recall them, or even have the option to recall them. You're allowed to sell the player and the loan deal automatically ends as a result of the sale. Hobbs situation is different in that he's supposed to have agreed a 2 year contract starting from the summer, in which case we'd only be able to sell him to a club that was going to give him a 6 month contract, or the buying club would also have to pay compo to Forest as though they were buying him from them. (some Scottish player who's name I've forgotten agreed a precontract then signed a contract extension with his current club, his current club had to pay compo to the club he never even joined)
Looks like Forest are desperate to keep Hobbs, and it seems the club mislead people, that Hobbs was tied up for the season. http://www.nottinghampost.com/Garry...-afford-lose/story-20395552-detail/story.html
