The English language today is a result of hundreds of years of Celtic, Germanic, Norse, Roman, Greek, Sanskrit (and more) words that have merged, interacted and transformed into what we recognise as our language. It's constantly evolving. It's essential to understand that American English is a branch of English. We say Maths they say Math - get over it.
Trashed? Nah I'm gonna get "garbaged" Happy New Year Ellewoods but aren't you eight hours behind us? Remember when you're getting merry with everyone at midnight, we'll all be stirring with a painful hangover!
Hi, Ellewoods, do you have relatives in Maryland? I have friends there called Dunlap, and thought it an unusual name.
It isnt a very common name. The Scottish immigration didnt last very long so most of the Scottish last names are gone by now. Even though I have a Scottish last name I am about 3/4 German. They could be distant relatives I guess. I had a Aunt and Uncle that lived there but they moved back to Colorado a good number of years ago so I doubt you know them. Most of my immediate relatives live in the rocky mountain states of Wyoming, Colorado or Montana. Ask them if they are originally from Wyoming. If they are then chances are we are related.
