We're in talks with Brighton for them both according to Sky Sources. I know nothing about Will Buckley??
I read they knocked our bid straight back @SkySportsPeteO Sunderland have had a number of bids rejected by Brighton for Liam Bridcutt, but are expected to come back in for the player #SAFC #BHAFC
12:36 We are hearing that Sunderland have had a number of bids rejected by Brighton for Liam Bridcutt. Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has made Bridcutt one of his top targets during the January transfer window, but Brighton are reluctant to lose the Scotland international. Sunderland have already seen a bid rejected by Brighton for Will Buckley.
Sky Sports understands Sunderland are in talks with Brighton over deals for Liam Bridcutt and Will Buckley. Black Cats boss Gus Poyet is desperate to bolster his squad in January and he has returned to his old club to make bids for the duo. Poyet is a huge admirer of midfielder Bridcutt and winger Buckley and feels they would prove valuable additions to his team as he looks to steer them away from the relegation zone. Bridcutt is thought to have attracted the interest of a number of Premier League clubs, but Sunderland are hoping to win the race for his signature. Buckley has established himself as one of the best players in the Championship after impressing at the Amex Stadium over the last couple of seasons. Brighton are reluctant to lose the duo as they remain key members of Oscar Garcia's squad as he looks to mount a serious challenge for promotion in the second half of the season. Sunderland have already signed Marcos Alonso on loan from Fiorentina and Poyet hopes to be able to persuade Brighton to part with Bridcutt and Buckley.
FFS if we do get them let's give the lads a chance before slating them. These 2 have been preforming well in the championship and will want to prove they can Make it in the prem. we are playing better football under poyet and if he thinks they are good enough then all we can do is support them not **** them off before they have even kicked a ball.
Piss off with the pessimism, if your not gonna support them and get behind them go and support them up the road... Ta
People need to remember that Adam Lallana was a championship player two years ago now he's one of the best around. What's to say they wont thrive in the premier league like Southamptons young English players have.
Bridcutt hasn't scored this season & Buckley has only scored one & thats in the Championship. Brighton aren't smashing up the championship at the moment are they. Poor signings in my opinion.
Neither has Altidore...nor half our team for that matter When under Poyet, Buckley was scoring about 8 a season and Bridcutt is a defensive midfielder...rarely gonna score Do a bit research and stop expecting so much Oh wait your a mag wum, its to be expected TA
