........ is ****ed. I don't particularly like Bolton, have had a few dust ups there and had a car nicked when we went for the Easter 2nd division promotion game. But what's happening at Bolton should worry every one of us ........ another great old football club seems set to become another Portsmouth. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spor...Bolton_Wanderers__debt_reaches_record_levels/ Bolton were high fliers recently, have a decent stadium and good support. Are any of us, outside the obvious clubs, safe?
this is the reason staying in the top flight is crucial or bouncing straight back, plus when you spend a fortune on a new ground you need to fill it, god knows how Bob Murray built the Sol for so little - ****ing genius
Ha ha, beat me to it you twat .. likewise that is one huge debt but I bet the board of directors are well cared for if you get my drift. Have a good one mate & best wishes to all..
Cheers and thanks for the card, made our Christmas Best wishes to everyone on here, whoever they support.
It's a shocker mate, you just expect clubs like Bolton to come back up and carry on as normal ........... they could actually go out of business. If that happens you'd have to ask, does Greater Manchester have any further need for another club?
8 years mate, a long time & you visiting here made our year through the strife and all. You always have been kinda special.. Sound lad & lovely wife..
'Special' has more than one meaning mate ........... the head in the hand is for my many failings, nowt to do with you (Your true meaning doesn't always come out on the internet.) Like I said, your card made our Christmas.

Leeds, Pompey, now Bolton in massive debts. There will be at least another 20 clubs on the verge of bankruptcy as we speak and another 20 within touching distance of that. We are fairly solvent so long as we have a billionaire owner as are quite a few others but let's not pretend we are totally excempt. There are not limitless sums of money within football and players are bleeding the game dry. Something will have to give in the next few years or else it will be finished. I'm not convinced enough people who makes the decisions actually give a **** though so long as their little pets Man Utd, City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are looked after and in Europe. These clubs are a cash cow and prestigious icons for the powers to be. The rest of us can go **** ourselves. Its why these clubs will always get the FA rub of the green and refs are told to go easy on them.
I fear that Sunderland will go down the same road if we are relegated. Let's face it, we don't have the core support any more, I know some season ticket holders that pick their games now, I really can't see the point of renewing if we go down. The majority, if not all of the players are total mercenaries these days, so they would be like rats leaving a sinking ship. It would be interesting to see which side of the fence Ellis Short really sits on. Sorry for the doom and gloom lads, 3 points tomorrow will lift a lot of the clouds, so will a skin full of beer and a couple of Scotch's after midnight. All the Best anyway.
