13:16 31st December 2013 Crystal Palace can confirm that Kevin Phillips will be leaving the club in January by mutual consent. Phillips, 40, joined the club at the start of this year on loan from Blackpool and made 16 appearances scoring seven goals and since his permanent move in the summer he has made five appearances from the bench. The strikerâs penalty at Wembley took the club into the top flight against Watford and this moment will always rate high on the veteranâs list of achievements. âIt went well for me at the end of the season and then the play-off final, getting the goal and securing promotion was right up there with one of my highest achievements in football. I have to thank the club and the supporters who have been absolutely magnificent to me and welcomed me with open arms from day one. That will stay in my memories for a long time.â Manager Tony Pulis has been impressed with the experienced professional in his short time at the club. âHe is a fantastic professional and there is no way I would stand in the way of what he wants to do. He has been brilliant to have around the place in the last few weeks that I have been here and of course he played a major role in getting this club promoted through the play-offs. His attitude in and around the rest of the players is first class and you can see why, at 40 years of age, he is still playing in the Premier League. I wish him every success in the future.â Read more at http://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/article/phillips-to-leave-palace-1266601.aspx#h3MRpECIkJf0kHcc.99
nope I am a believer you should never go back and I would like to remember skp as he was when paired with Nial
Every day of the week, wouldnt be here just for the money his heart would be in it. And a very cheap and useful option for the club
Massive yes from me, I am biased though, he's my number 1 idol. He could still do a job and put the ball in the net, it's what he does.
Get him in even if it's only to work with our academy strikers. They could learn a lot from SKP , so could Danny Graham for that matter.
Giggs is playing for one of the best clubs in the league, SKP is a fit bloke and would've definitely scored Borini's chance at Villa and Altidore's at Cardiff. Goals win games so who knows. Would I rather bring him on than AJ, yes .......... would he raise the crowd with 15 minutes to go, undoubtedly ....... would he score for us this season, guaranteed
Not interested in tearing it up, just staying up ......... some people, who aren't deluded, have realistic ambitions
Great impact player for the last 20 minutes. He knows where the goal is that's for sure! I'm not working tomorrow, if he needs a lift!
Even at 40 he has more to offer than Altidore, Ji, or Whickham in front of goal. That's a very sad inditement of how poor our striking options really are.
