I've put this as part of another post, but there was no response, and it's probably more appropriate in this thread anyway: (first posted on Saturday) STOKE boss Mark Hughes could try to sign Stephen Ireland long-term in the January transfer window to free up space for another loan signing. Stoke have currently used up their quota of two British-based loan signings by acquiring Ireland and Liverpool's Oussama Assaidi. But turning the Ireland deal into a long-term switch would allow Stoke to make a loan move for the likes of Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha in January. Whelan, Whelan, Whelan..... Shall we pay for his ticket to London? I will be willing to put some in...
@: I've just seen Adrian Ramos in the co-op Wolstanton, so it must be true he's coming to Stoke. Happy days #SCFC
I heard the same news/rumour 97.. IF it's an on deal we have an excellent player. I think he also scored against Bayern Munich recently. Let's hope it happens. I also heard the deal for Diouf is a done deal.. Could make sense as Coates said " We won't be hanging around in the Jan window" Yes please Santa.
Stoke City: Mark Hughes warns fans of long transfer window MARK Hughes says Stoke fans should brace themselves for a long January transfer window as he chases a new striker for the second half of the season. Speaking this afternoon ahead of Wednesday's afternoon kick off against Everton, Hughes said: "It's well-documented that we are looking to add to our options in attack. "We weren't able to do that in the summer, but we will try again in January. "But there's no-one definitely in the pipeline at the momnt and so it maybe a long window for us." That appears to end hopes of a swift deal for either of the Bundesliga pair Mame Biram Diouf and Luuk de Jong.
Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis plans to raid former club Stoke to sign striker Peter Crouch and winger Matthew Etherington - both 32 - when the transfer window opens. I think he should go for Walters and Whelan as we'll and we will have Jerome back.
Pulis can have Walter's and I'll pay the Taxi fair, Whelan??? take him for free. For me guys, neither is cutting it especially Whelan. And how many goals has Walters scored. 1 I thin? NOT good enough. I don't know where he is supposed to be playing, position wise if I'm honest. Oh and we have Butland back, why not give the lad a chance.
He can take Whelan, but I want to keep Walters. He has been great so far this season. But a deal to bring Jerome back would be good. Someone on a rumour site keeps posting about Thomas Ince being a target as well?
Walters has done now't but run around a lot, time to get rid of him and get someone in who will do more than pass the ball to their goal keeper.
Whelan, crouch, jones, walters all need to go. Ive been watching jerome for palace and to be honest he couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo. Much better players out there. One good striker in january and ill be happy
