Racing on the last day of the year comes from Punchestown, Uttoxeter and Warwick over the sticks and Lingfield on the polytrack. Cheltenian makes his seasonal bow in the opener at Uttoxeter, hope he can have an injury-free run, think he could pick up some nice prizes this season, hopefully the handicapper will give him a decent mark. One to keep on the right side of I reckon (although not a betting proposition today).
I see Rebecca Curtis sends one up to Uttoxeter today. ... Uttoxeter 3.40pm - Binge Drinker. 13/8 best price. I have to confess I am not an expert in these bumpers but this one does catch the eye. I see Jamie Moore is riding and i have noticed he has ridden a few so far this season for Curtis. Is this a new thing as I have nt seen him ride for her before? I have had a small win bet on this one just for some interest today. I do think though if all else fails, what a name for a horse on new years eve! Very very topical.... Hope you all toast the New Year in with your favourite tipple....
last days racing this year ! just as a 'warning' have done a lucky 15 , Menelik ! 30 L Nassau Storm 2 30 l Tresor de Bonitee 1 40 U Flicka Williams 2 10 U best wishes all and bash dem bookies !
I backed Mireya late last night at 6/1 into 4's now it should make a bold bid for victory today in Punchestown at 2:45 with conditions in favour.
I put up a really strong selection last week as on the all weather, the horse Nassau Storm was backed heavily all day and went as low as 7-4 from 7-2. My fingers were badly burnt when the horse got no run at all and the jockey had no choice but accept his fate. The horse runs again today and I certainly feel he can win with relative ease if things go his way. He is not drawn badly in 7 but if not getting a good break could end up with the same scenario as last week. To cloudy the matter further the connections have entered another horse that is probably superior to Nassau Storm but looks likely to be having a pipe opener coming back from a break. With all of these issues I have gone in again for the horse but not to the degree of last week, ultimately the horse is well handicapped, in form and in a grade he can win at with the arguably the best jockey in the race and so hopes are high for a recovery mission. Lingfield 2.30 Nassau Storm 10-3
Posted this last night on yesterday's thread so might aswell put it on here too 1:00 Lingfield - Basil Berry 20/1 2:00 Lingfield - Titan Triumph 25/1 Ew singles and ew double Going to chuck in Avonmore Star at 20/1 in the 3:00 Lingfield, another EW single, EW doubles and EW treble why not!
It's Richard Hannon Snr's last day as a trainer so for that reason and that reason only I've done his charges in an each way double and singles. He's got two in one race so I went for the one with Sebs Sensai
Morning all scrapped the poly today going 4 Uttoxeter instead singles doubles treble tresor de bontee lean burn Massena and an ew on di kaprio way to big at 12s good luck all
Good call on Seb Sensai Bob, nearly well rewarded at a big price. Jim Crowley rode a great race on the winner and could have a good day as has two well fancied rides to come on Nassau Storm and the Cecil horse.
Are you backing your namesake today Bobster? Nice call on that Hannon one too very unlucky not to colect 1st prize. Well done badger too on Berry
Cheers lads. Bloody Mersad ruining the party! I'm not backing Bob lads. No idea what ability is still there after those falls. If he could jump he'd have pissed the RSA last year and ran very flat the year before as a novice hurdler. Lots of ifs and buts but I'm just gutted for him. Had no luck whatsoever.
Midnight charmer has been in some serious form lately 4/1looks good I checked the place only 8/13 not my odds but still very big with 3 places
