Yes bruv, they are chanting 'Allah is a Peado' (I presume 'cos either they dont know the difference between Mohammed and Allah...or they can't make 'Mohammed' fit into the chant. But of course these are the same w****** who threw bottles and chanted 'Muslim scum' at a load of Sikhs in London a short while back. (Again you can see it all on you-tube if you so wish). Anyway....sorry to all with my rants on a match day..I'm tired and waiting to go home from my early shift...AND was offered a spare ticket for the match today.... Come on you R'sss
Great piece in The Mail today by Martin Samuel concerning Anelka/La Quenelle/Dieudonne.............Worth a read. (The irony that its in The Mail isnt lost on me)
Wow, who'd have thought young Stainsey and Samuels of the Mail would be batting for the same team and that both would be 100% right. Anelka knew what he was doing and will be punished for it, though the football authorities struggle with this kind of thing. I think, whatever the cause (even the ones I support), it is unforgivable to use your place of work as a platform to make political or religious statements/gestures, unless your place of work is explicitly linked to a political or religious cause. Certainly my company would have zero tolerance on this (and no, that doesn't extend to banning crucifixes and headscarves, PC gone- madders). All this T-shirt message stuff in football is explicitly about this, and of course its sometimes ridiculous, but in fact its much easier to just say 'don't do it at all' than 'we'll make exceptions in these circumstances'. Generally I'm all for free speech, and it always brings a wry smile when bigots and idiots like Anelka deny being bigots and claim ignorance when challenged. Di Canio back tracking from his obvious association with fascism because a job was more important than his supposed beliefs springs to mind. If you believe something stand up for it, just use the right platforms/channels (which sometimes includes taking to the streets) But this isn't about free speech, its purely about causing offence and upset. Now of course as Samuels highlights, we will have hundreds of British cretins copying this stupid gesture, but that'll be fine because, as Flyer so helpfully points out, people like this understand and appreciate the philosophical and ethical difference between racism and political protest. Not.
like i said at the start ... it was rubbish and I hope the French politicians get big egg on their faces for this... they are so far away from the truth it's funny You would have arrest a lot of people and in turn ban all football celebrations Its interpretation as usual ... the unmentionable is mentioned and glued and all of a sudden it's outrageous You want to talk about the spoils of war? then nothing is taboo IMO If any person believes that NA in any way was suggesting this crap in a football goal celebration then sorry ... but you are one very lost soul. Association is a bummer ... I haven't been able to wear any of my gold tracksuits since that other scandal
Yes, but to compare this gesture to David Mellor's infidelity with Antonia de Sancha is a little obscure. And was Jimmy Savile also a holocaust denier? I think someone at the BBC should be told.....
So most on here would choose to believe that a football player has chosen to use a celebration seen worldwide to express anti Jew viewpoint ? Seriously then these people are lost I simply do not believe it and the player is already on record saying it meant nothing of the sort which is doesn't It's very pathetic IMO You could pull anything from history and draw offence to it in that case I doubt if he will do it again of course And maybe goal celebrations in sport should be banned all together and following that where do you stop then? I personally hold all war crimes in exactly the same context ... evil Next England game v Germany arrest everyone who sings the dam busters mock googles and all or the great escape ... There is no mistakes what the crowd is doing there This is a utter disgrace and would ruin a player who has been a great servant to the sport Sick to death on how our culture is going in the UK and how stupid it is making my fellow countrymen Anelka is no racist and no anti Jew Complete rubbish yet this story will run because the press in the UK stand for what? Free speech ... Of course unless it offends someone Laughing stock
My point re the media is that when they smell blood on any story they make things a lot worse on purpose ****y politicians then queue up to get exposure In recent times we have had racism in football and look how they handled that? Wonderfully well did they not ? There is no room in sport for any racism and I don't believe there has been any at all here You won't stop the world lads but to stir it all up helps no one
Utter bollox again Dave........IMO The Martin Samuels article proves my point a whole lot better than i can.......
Anelka dedicates his goal with a Neo-Nazi sign to a Neo-Nazi, is he really THAT dumb? Le Sulk is just as obnoxious as he ever was...
How anyone can even touch the Daily Mail newspaper I know not It's evil and shame on Roller for linking that rubbish The player himself was quick to state his beliefs outside football which I tend to believe not any arsehole looking for a story. Also once they start expect a lot more because the Mail never gives up It's a dreadful newspaper and I would love to see it exposed one day These people are accountable for the crap they write and you never get them saying we got it wrong or in this case it was a misunderstanding New headline Sorry we got it wrong and Nick is not the black devil Sod the lot of them they make me suck
