Must be, I mean 6 goals and in the top flight Closely followed by the 3-0 HT score vs Everton in 2009/10 and second-half at the Emirites 2008/9 in recent memory. I also might add the first half vs Birmingham City (ended 5-2), Boyd was unplayable in that too a couple of seasons ago and the 2nd half (2-0) performance vs Leeds at the KC last Christmas was outstanding. Sheff Weds second-half 2004 (mentioned it as Barmby's day on another thread) and Liverpool FA Cup 1989 first half (2-1) also spring to mind. other contenders?
I really enjoyed the first half against Millwall @ home (last season?), fairly sure it was last season 4-0 if I remember correctly
...yes it probably even eclipsed the second half at Orient in 1984 and the second half at home to Derby County in 85 at Boothferry Park!
I remember us being 5-0 up against Rotherham after about half an hour in the 83/84 ("Turf Moor") season. It was very disappointing in the end when the score ended up only 5-0. Anyway, I'm sure the likes of Roberts, Marwood, McClaren etc must have played better football than anything Huddlestone, Livermore, Boyd etc could produce. Honest.
So, collectively, they certainly have a great deal to live up to when the pundits get going again; or will some recognise that they were playing around a Fulham team who probably had their 'Worse 45 minutes of football ever'? Not trying to detract from the result, they did well, but against pro-footballs 'Blind Institute, as we used to say - Fulham went way, way beyond bad, they simply got in the way at times.
I think, given the level were playing at, that that should be the best 45 minutes ever by city. Sadly we're not city anymore and that detracts a lot away from it. It should have been such a great day to remember but it occurred in a season I can't wait to forget. So no, it wasn't the best ever 45 minutes by City.
Fulham played like a pub team with a hangover, even Sidwell gave up been dirty second half. Darren Bent came on apparently, didn't see him
I'd love to have seen Taarabt after the game having not even been deemed good enough to make their bench.
In 15 years that's the best I've seen. Leeds last season was the most satisfying, with Wednesday away in 2004 the best in terms of a contest. In the latter days of BP in early 2002 we raced into a 3-0 lead in the first half against Shrewsbury.
