Games cming thick and fast Chelsea up next live on BT sport. Some big decisions for MP. On the plus side Chelsea have had two very tough games and picked up injuries todao Ivanovic and Lampard. For us does MP bring Clyne back and who makes way for Morgan. If Dani is available should go for his pace against two relatively slow CBs in Cahill and Terry. Sounds like rickie was poor today? Assuming we didn't pick up any injuries today I'd go with Kelvin Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Morgan Cork Jrod Davis Adam Osvaldo Subs Gazza Chambers Maya Reed Gaston Jwp Rickie Thoughts?
If Osvaldo isn't available, I might even be tempted to play Jay up top, with Davis, Lallana and an attacking mid to be named later.
Luiz said he didn't do it deliberately so he could have a long holiday................... Agree with the OP's side. Rickie has a good record off the bench against Chelsea!
4-3-3 Gazzaniga Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Davis Cork Schneiderlin Lallana Lambert Rodriguez Bench: Davis, Chambers, Yoshida, Reed, Ramirez, Gallagher, Ward-Prowse
I thought SKD had a calming influence on us today, so I'd stick with him. The bloke can still get down when he needs to as well!
Kelvin didn't put a foot wrong against Everton. He saved everything that was savable and actually CAUGHT CROSSES!!!
His kicking was also surprisingly excellent, significantly better than either Gazza or Artur has managed. Mobility up top would be great but I fear JRod doesn't have enough to his game to take that role and the ball would just keep coming back at us, unless he doesn't even need to play with his back to his goal as Chelsea just leave us acres of space to play between the lines. Rickie is not at his best but is still desperately needed I feel, until Dani really settles in or Jay blossoms into a proper all-round number 9. I'd have Morgan and Clyne in for the unlucky JWP and Chambers, other than that unchanged with Steve Davis playing more advanced.
This will be put the knackers on it, but I think Jay has scored in 3 out of 4 against Chelsea. Lambert has a presence but he is no longer the focal point of our attack and his strength and aerial ability seem less and less significant to our build up play. The trouble with playing Jay in the middle is that he will be easier to mark and I think he thrives on late runs from the wide where he is harder to pin down.
My only criticism of KD was that he pinched the Captains armband from Lalla who forgot he wasn't the skipper and got booked for debating with Clottenburk!
