After watching Baldock squander 4 great chances against Walsall I'm wondering if we can't do a 'Hull' on Stevenage. Once Hull scored their 2nd goal yesterday the pressure came off and the floodgates opened. Pretty sure the same could happen at AG anytime soon once we get a 2nd goal. Blimey - Victor's positive.
I've said it quite a lot this season, we will give someone a hammering this season... When I don't know but the amount of chances we have and miss are ridiculous and what's even more annoying is the little amount of chances the other team have and score..... 3-0 would be a nice score today but I would quite happily take 1-0 and coming off of somebody's hand. 3 points are more important than the amount we score
Rickster - Have I ever been wrong ? Outstanding performance from most City players today especially Parish,Osborne,Cunningham,Reid,Baldock and Jet. Williams had one of those days where nothing went right - even 5 yard passes went astray. Gillett was very ordinary, passed the ball forward twice in 90 minutes and bumped off the ball in CM like a 12 year old. Wagstaffe crossed for our 1st but that was it. He didn't stop their crosses at all - he's not a WB - He's nothing. Wagstaffe is the only player from both sides who carries a bottle on to the field each half. Trick cyclists would have field day. I think Moloney is a far better WB and have a feeling he'll start at Orient instead of Wagstaffe. Liked SC's involvement from the dug out, he was very positive.
Don't think Reid has his best game today, lost the ball far too easily at times. Maybe was carrying a small injury, but definatly wasn't himself
Totally agree, he does nothing for most of the game, is clueless, and then goes and creates a goal out of nothing.
I did not think any of City's midfield had that good a game. Citys best player was the keeper and the best player on the pitch was the opponents in Freeman allowed the freedom of the park by City moving inside and outside, inside and outside in a hole created by City's unbalanced midfield. At 2-0 the visitors did everything but score then its 3-0. Another day its 2-1, then a point and points lost.
The after game interviews are certainly a breath of fresh air - one of SoD's biggest faults was his inability to communicate with fans via the media
You are right but when we were defending in our penalty area, everyone was throwing bodies to block shots and if one got through, Parrish pulled off a string of very good saves. Even though Williams distribution let him down, he and Flint won almost everything in the air! Above all, the whole team worked very hard trying to cover others mistakes or inadequacies. It was not a perfect performance, a silk purse is not created overnight from a sow's ear! But when was the last time City won two home games on the bounce. I am always quick to criticise or where I think we could have done things better. However, today I am saying a very well done to whole City squad and management. Thanks for your efforts and continue on Wednesday at Orient.
I thought we looked quicker on the ball, with players moving more freely around the pitch Unlike that slow ****e we've been watching the past 10 months with players looking like they've been restricted to a zonal game. Good to see Cunningham entering the last third of the pitch. Every ball is now not having to go through JET. But if some want to hang onto the crap that SoD dealt us and tell us every time that against Port Vale and second half at Carlilse we was fantastic to watch then that's their business. Me I will take the performance against Walsall and Stevenage anytime of the week.
You are right but when we were defending in our penalty area, everyone was throwing bodies to block shots .. No when the post was hit TWO players in midfield had not tracked back, one was wrong side, next time it goes in. City were cut open on numerous occasions. Defensively it was poor. The second half v Walsall was far more convincing. Today a clear achilles heel appeared again through the centre of midfield. Too generous to the opposition conceding space and chances, too soft.
We was rumoured to be putting a offer in for Freeman for £300k as he's out of contract in the summer. That was reported in Sept. Things might be different now with SC in the hot seat. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...ty-planning-on-buying-Luke-Freeman-in-January
After reading everything about yesterday we should go in for him Anyone else having trouble quoting people on here as I get null come up
Not the best of views from the Ateyo stand but my thoughts are.... Parish made some fine stops and saves, but he still looks like a very in-experienced keeper to me. He came out for one corner and missed it completely then had a mouthfull of Flint. Good to see the pasion there tho...I am sure he will get better as he goes on. Osbourne looks decent in the air and at his feet. Flint... still unsure about him.For such a big lad he gets beat too easy. Reid covered a lot of the pitch and looks good. Cunningham,Marv,Williams and Gillett looked average at best. Sam worked his socks off as usual and JET was excellent in short spells otherwise he was also average. Waggy was,er,Waggy...... Still, if a team of mostly average players can win 4-1 then a bit of confidence and perhaps a new face or two could see us as a decent team. I am still confident we will avoid the R word though........
