There are often two many factors to look at rudebwoy plus thow in flat hurdles chases horses mixed around the three , an average race takes 20/30 mins to pick apart and put back together jockey , track , time to distance , conditions , weights , grades , value in odds , targeted races , race styles , with just a few mentioned there you can never be right all of the time . Personally I love the flat and get plenty of big winners but as I love raceing in general I am always looking for the edge no matter what it is . Now for the last at doncastor looks very tight but im going to side with the out of form iron butterfly ew at 8s very weighted but so are the rest . Moloney has had the pleasure on a few occasions and always puts in a good shift onboard , I will however keep this bet small . good luck rudebwoy as you say its nice to see others win and great to read all the opinions and this site does comand respect with some very good regulars.
Alco does look big at 14s the jockey puts me off when hurdling though I much prefer to see him chasing , but the best of luck smokey
You too Uncle hopefully one of us has managed to find the winner so it's not just the bookies that win
cheers uncle--like you i often go with my 'gut' instinct--which when we are in the groove is easy--but when your confidence has been knocked --you cant find a winner in a two horse race--so time for putting it on the line.... e/w L15, Henryville 12/1 1 15 Don Seaside Rock 16/1 2 55 D Sir Dylan 12/1 1 55 Southwl Queen Spud 10/1 3 25 don shall be doing a win only L15 , Seaside Rock 16/1 2 55 Don Romany Ryme 9/2 2 10 K Blue Bicycle 11/4 1 30 L Our Connor SP 2 00L good luck all !!!!
Royal Guardsman for me today at 11/2 Why? Very eye catching lto, when in a better race, but hit one at key stage for him. The trip today will suit and should be given positive ride from Fehily. Low weight and should be dangerous today.
An often used faux pas about Hurricane Fly's Grade One wins is that they have been in small fields without depth. Small fields does not equate to 'easy races'. The mere 5 runners in today's Ryanair Hurdle have 28 Grade Ones between them. Without a doubt this is THE best trial we'll see prior to March.
Forgive the complete and utter simplicity I'm applying here Nass but using collateral form lines the Tent, New One and Jezki are all similar animals. Based on the Supremes it appears there's little between Jezki and the Tent, where a mistake at the last cost Jezki valuable momentum at a crucial stage, without which he would have been right on the Tent. The Tent and New One were split by a whisker at Kempton, without the mistake New One may well have won but regardless you're somewhat splitting hairs as to each other's superiority. Of course some of these animals are better suited to Cheltenham than others and I can see some reasoning as to why the New One fans are supremely confident of bettering the Tent come March. In my view, using the above (albeit loose!) form analysis, today's race brings the Tent/Jezki/New One form to the table. In there as well is the Champ who sets the benchmark. Then add in the unknown quantity of Our Conor who could be the fly in the ointment to the established formlines. That all leads me to believe that today's race is the best hurdle race, and without a shadow of a doubt, the most informative, we'll see this side of March.

For me if HF is still at the top of his game then he wins today and at Cheltenham and if that's the case then it's ridiculous for him to be odds against today and 6/1 for Cheltenham. If not at his best then for me it's between Our Conor and MTOY come March. I'm very excited to see how Our Conor does today. It's just my opinion but I think TNO is a little bit over hyped.
Jezki ran a blinder in the Supreme and may have reversed placings with MTOY but for a last hurdle error, so Beefys point on collateral form rings true at first glance. I was delighted that The New One ran the Tent so close at Kempton though because at Cheltenham he will hold the aces and I think will reverse form by a couple of lengths. If Our Conor wins this first time up then we may have a serious animal on our hands. There is something special about the way he travels but I would have preferred better preparation for todays purposes. He cerainly won't lack speed come March, like some Triumph hurdle winners do. Hurricane will need to have come on for a run but he was flat in his pipe opener last year before slamming Thousand Stars et al in ths event 12 minths ago, so don't rule that out. Just think that Jezki is a horse who can handle any tactics- he settles off anything and quickens well when he has to and has had no issues when hitting the front. However, my opinion is about todays race- not the Champion Hurdle in March, and I think thats why the bookies have got this one slightly wrong.
Jezki to me is a serious animal and i rate him the biggest danger to TNO in march. Like MTOY he has a great cruising speed but his turn of foot also is very good. I think hitting the last in the supreme cost him victory and wouldnt be surprise if he joins MTOY + TNO as joint favourites after today.
Our Conor and Jeski pose a serious threat to Hurricane Fly in the Ryanair Hurdle at Leopardstown. I do think Our Conor will finish in front of Hurricane Fly at the Festival whatever happens today, Hurricane is past his best and was under pressure a long way from home before winning the 2013 Champion, will be 10 years old in 2014. Our Conor had a decent run on the flat when finishing 4th in the November Handicap at Naas, has more room for improvement over hurdles than Jeski IMO.
I'm aware that I've left Jezki out of my above rant but that's because not only have I never seen the horse run I've never even heard of it, but reading the comments on here a lot of people seem quite keen on its chances so I'm looking forward to the race even more now
If you go and buy the 15L Triumph Hurdle winner, why in anyones name would you take Bryan Cooper off UNLESS it was to put Ruby on board? I thought Bryan rode brilliantly last year and also I rate him highly.
Somewhat agree with you, think The New One is a little overhyped for two reasons, one his hurdling technique needs improving, two the jockey.
