I don't think we need a mod. A simple ban of the IP address for STB and his other aliases would be enough. If cyprussydsafc could sort out a ban for Steely is back, Masseyfergusson and Steely returns - all the same person - the problem is solved. If not, then ignore should mean ignore. Nobody mention the imbecile, repost or reply to any of his cretinous nonsense and he will soon get bored. Tiny minds like STB crave attention. It comes from being a total inadequate with no friends and only his right hand for company. Ban him, please, but if that is beyond the technology, please EVERYONE, totally ignore him. I have read and taken on board all the posts on this thread but I still feel strongly that we need a mod, someone who can give the Argyle boards their full attention - 2 mods would be better than one, Cyp has too much to do to spend any amount of time on one club's boards. Steely would not stand a chance against me - he'd be zapped quicker than he can say Stevenage thundernuts. Like I said I'd only want to do it if it were the popular choice, there are others who are equally capable. I do feel we need to make a decision though, the quicker these boards are modded the better. Meanwhile there is that "ignore" button, mine has another to add.
I agree with you Reid-all-about-it and if you're willing to do it, you get my vote. After all, there shouldn't be much to do. We aren't going to go zapping people because we don't agree with them - even DS is safe - but the scum that are STD and his other brain cell MasseyFerguson don't even require a decision. Their accounts exist solely to cause trouble on this board for whatever mindless reason and their recent posts are so low as to make the bugs that feeds on sewage tanks look classy. They just go, that's it, feet up and relax. Cyprussydsafc has taken longer explaining why he can't do anything than a quick look at their posting history and a swift disinfection would have done, but there you are.
Distant, other than the obvious, our boards are pretty agreeable and banter is always welcomed - even the Exeter banter but after reading (accidently I might add whilst not signed in) the comments posted reagrding Joe's son and lets not forget the comments made to sensible's terminally ill Mother on the original 606, I realised that he has gone way too far, he is on a different level to DS, at least DS has morals!

If you are happy to be a mod Reid-all-about-it then fine by me although I still would not volunteer myself. Ignore button used once more and I still maintain that this is adequate. It really is simple. Activate the button, do not be tempted to even look at a post other than the one introducing the new user id and then completely ignore it as if it never existed. Had the original 606 had this option I feel sure we would have already learned to ignore and pests would no longer bother us as it would simply be a waste of their time and they would have long gone by now.
As somebody else pointed out Sensible, just ignoring individuals doesn't stop everyone else who visit on a casual basis seeing their droppings. There's a moral dimension to this. STD has no place on this board and if you look at his posting history, his accounts are set up with the sole purpose of causing trouble and disruption on this board and this board alone. What he posts has no value or content whatsoever. That's several steps away from ordinary rivalry between fans so he's entirely expendable. Lastly, his most recent posts, including some aimed at you, who has far as I know haven't given him any justification whatsover, have plumbed depths that no worthwhile person would sink to. He's gone too far to be ignored, he needs putting down.
I agree with your last 3 words notdistantgreen but not necessarily the rest. It gives him some kick to be banned as well I'm sure. The problem you have, and I'm not a technical person so this is only a belief, is that you can change an email address as easily as you can your user id so it would only inconvenience him a little anyway. Just leave him exactly where he is for the visitors to see and us not having to bother looking at all is still my stance. The visitors will see soon enough that he has no part to play in Argyle discussions and the fact there is no mention of him or responses. I know it is a pain but I am still sure he will tire with no pleasure to be gained by posting. If somebody other than him posted some of his offerings then I would perhaps be upset. But, I can assure you and all of the proper contributors to this forum that he doesn't upset me and as far as I am concerned only confirms people's loathing for the inbred. I will not see anymore and I hope joe does the same. Joe knows that most on here have concern, genuinely, for his situation which should be all that matters to him and I'm sure is a comfort to some degree. Ban him if you want to but personally I could not care much less one way or the other.
