I love the half-time snippet stats on their commentary thread, whereby the live text man simply points to whatever stat he fancies and claims that is the decisive stat in saying who was on top However, Sunderland had nearly 100% of the ball for the last 15 minutes (including stoppage time) and lots of wasteful and hopeful cracks at goal, while Cardiff shat themselves and dropped deeper. It's not surprising some of those stats are better. I think Cardiff were the better side on display, Medel makes a big difference, and looked comfortable most of the game til one of them noticed the timer... But at the end of the day, if that game went on 1 minute more, Sunderland would probably have 3 points instead of 1!
Well you said nobody else could do this job... Implying he must be the greatest manager on Earth... Or else the only one who'd give two tits about trying...
I said this morning mate ......... point by precious point Look at all of our rival's games and we have every reason for optimism. Man Utd & City showed today why we can win the League Cup and Newcastle will show tomorrow why we can do the double over them
I didn't see the game, but it seems strange to me that everyone is saying how Cardiff battered us, yet we had more possession and more chances, both on and off target..
You didn't specify that smug. You being a pedantic sort of chap, I expect better from you. Thankfully you've saved yourself in the final minute with that last gasp effort
They tried to shore up and took Campbell and Noone off, which gave us a chance to get into the game. We definitely got out of jail, but it's a point and a step in the right direction.
I don't need to specify when I'm talking to intelligent Sunderland supporters, they understand instinctively ....... it's only dimwits who need pictures painting
Games last until the end ....... a goal in the last minute isn't any luckier than a goal in the first minute.
I was always taught a match lasts 90 minutes - plus time added on. Did we do something outside those parameters today? x
This! IMO with he quality of players we have we can not afford to have any of them not playing 100% what worries me is the inability to put two committed performances together. Anyway the draw certainly feels like a win given the performance so if anything it will be a confidence builder.
And I was talking to a lady last week who told me that JPF was an intelligent young chap... I want to see the evidence...
They come on here thinking they can trip me up and always end up looking even dafter than when they arrived ....... when will they ever learn
Agreed, but there are reasons they stopped pressing a high line. I didn't say we were lucky, I said we got out of jail, its not our fault Cardiff messed up, we can only play the team that's in front of us. Once Fletcher scored I couldn't see them hanging on to their lead.
I'd say our jailers were incompetent, gutless and left the door wide open ........ great performance from a team that did us proud.
