Ideally yes but wages could prevent that. Doubt eliss would be happy with players on 30k a week sitting as back up. They're on first team wages so if they ain't going to feature often I could see Ellis selling them on and replacing them with younger hungry players on less money with a point to prove.
On MOTD last night, when Everton made a bad back-pass to the goalie early on, it looked to me like Fletcher bottled it. There was hesitation in his run you wouldn't have sen in a striker full of confidence. No one else commented on it last night so I'll assume I may have been a little unfair. But he's not the player he was last season for sure.
Could that not be fear of injury...due to the long term one he has just had... Would you rather he was available or injured... Once he gets a goal he will get some confidence
I noticed it Sandy, bit of a half hearted attempt. Should of scored the chance as well, good or bad foot, their keeper was in no mans land, We don't have the luxury of waiting for him to fire again. We need 17pts out the next 10 games.
A Sterling, Suarez, Rooney, Lambert, etc, etc, would have challenged the goalie at least,. Fletch appeared to pull up well short. I realise it all happens at pace and no replay of it was shown but it looked pretty clear to me. If the issue is confidence we don't have the luxury of giving him time to get it back. I was a big fan and chuffed when we signed him but I think he's lost what he had. We need some hunger upfront. Ours "goals for" talley proves that.
Our team plays better when Altidore plays & if you can't see that then you need to go to spec savers.
Rooney/Suarez - 2 of the best players in the league... Lambert - a brick ****house Sterling - a whippet Each different to Fletch and have strengths to beat a keeper to it Granted we have no time but he can't do worse than altidore...he's been scoring for fun....
Altidore is like Bizzaro in the old Superman comics. All angles that the ball bounces off anywhere. he has the delicate touch of a rapist. Heskey Heskey Heskey x
Disagree fella, Jozy has played by far better than fletch has this season and the team play better with Jozy in it. Just my opinion of course but Jozy allows us to play further up the pitch. Fletch isn't even offering us that at the moment. Just want him to solve what ever problems he's having and improve his performances cause I rate Fletch but Poyet will sell him if he doesn't sort it. He has his own team to build so the players already here need to show their worth.
I don't think either are the answer TBE. We need new blood. For the life of me I can't think who though. No teams gonna let go a striker in form unless it's for stupid money. And if he isn't on form why bother buying him. It's the perennial January Window problem.
Poyet will want his own stamp on this side. Many will go in the next two windows, lets be honest with ourselves, the majority have under achieved, not just Fletcher. I do agree Jozy offers more to the team at this moment.
