We need two strikers in ideally.

    The Dutch Top Scorers
    Alfred Finnbogason Heerenveen 17
    Graziano Pelle Feyenoord Rotterdam 13
    Lucas Piazon Vitesse Arnhem 11
    Aron Johannsson AZ Alkmaar 11
    Luc Castaignos Twente Enschede 10
    Quincy Promes Twente Enschede 8
    Michiel Hemmen Cambuur Leeuwarden 7
    Lex Immers Feyenoord Rotterdam 7
Steve De Ridder FC Utrecht 7
Krisztian Nemeth Roda JC Kerkrade 7
Erik Falkenburg Go Ahead Eagles 7
    Dusan Tadic Twente Enschede 7
    Kelvin Leerdam Vitesse Arnhem 7
    Davy Klaassen Ajax Amsterdam 7

I keep hearing of Finnbogason. Castaignos had early promise and went to Inter but is back in the Dutch League, still only 21 i think.

    Championship Strikers.
    Ross McCormack Leeds United 16
    Danny Ings Burnley 13
    Jordan Rhodes Blackburn Rovers 13
    Craig Bryson Derby County 11
    Troy Deeney Watford 11
    David McGoldrick Ipswich Town 11
    David Nugent Leicester City 11
Charlie Austin Queens Park Rangers 10
    Chris Martin Derby County 10
    James Vaughan Huddersfield Town 10
    Sam Vokes Burnley 10

Rhodes is too expensive. Mccormack, maybe. That Charlie Austin might be worth a look!!! Was we linked with Troy Deeney in the summer? He may be worth a punt for a couple of million.

    Who else is out there??

At Inter he was absolutely fooking woeful. I appreciate it's a different level ie ****e for them might be good for us, but fook me he was bad. I see we were linked with Belfodil over the weekend, he's dogshite as well. When Inter signed him there was much mockery and it's been proven justified.

I'd be tempted to try Juve's arm, they've got about a million strikers, and other than Tevez none of whom are quite good enough for them and they're not in the UCL so will be looking tor reduce the numbers and plan for next season. Sebastian Giovinco, who I don't rate as a top level striker but would be ace for us, must be desperate to get some game time in a world cup year. He'd be the perfect foil for Sagbo's pure strength and directness. All of the above also applies to Fabio Quaglieralla.

I would take a punt on Danny Ings (we can offer him a road in his name, after all!) at Burnley; still very much in development, so price would be right and we need someone not jaded like Fryatt and Graham. The kids got decent feet and that is a lot more than Graham will ever have. I think SB is fixed on SL for the other.

How much would Mccormack cost? doubt they want to sell and not sure he'd want to come...

At this moment in time he'd be my priority. Having lost Brady and Aluko we are missing a technical and pacey player who can score. I would take other players like Long etc... but I think he's what we need right now.

Your numbers are off. Johannsson hit 18 goals last week so he might have even more now. Your list must be old. I only know this because he is on the US National team and is Altidores backup. He is on a pace to become the highest US single season goal scorer beating Altidores record of 31. They talk about Johannsson on ESPN.

Yea you are right. He has 7 goals in their cup competition so 11 league and 7 cup goals for a total of 18 goals in 26 starts.

ESPN said cetlitc are after him.

How much do you reckon they would want? £5m+? Celtic don't usually tend to sign expensive strikers though.

Anyone else think the Fulham result is incredibly significant for signing a player early January? If we don't win we'll be right down in the relegation dog fight and players may be more reluctant to come.

If we can't get a couple of goals against the worst defence in the league then we are in trouble. Signing a decent striker will become even more of a priority if we dont register tomorrow. Saying that I think we will win tomorrow with goals from midfield, probably Jake and Thudd, but it still does not mask the fact that we need a striker. Sagbo looked ok again yesterday but was in the wrong positions again. Grahams hold up play was ok but nothing special. I wouldn't mind seeing Matty start with Sagbo and at least give him an hour against a defence he should be able to trouble. Graham could see this as a vote of no confidence and give it a go for the last 30 minutes. If we start sliding down the table no-one is going to want to come to a relegation contender. Long should be our main target.

Bruce has certainly hinted that Fryatt will get his chance, so I really do hope that he gets a start or at least a decent go against the Cottagers.

Posted this on the Mackay thread already but it probably belongs on here

"As Cardiff slide into the relegation zone, with the club and managerial situation in disarray, FC must be reassessing his future. As in our promotion season he could be the missing link for us. He's always had the breakaway speed and goal scoring ability but he's added real strength in the air from what I've seen of him this year. He and Sagbo, backed up by Thudds passing and play making, could transfer our scoring potential. Would far rather roll the boat out for him than the ponderous Rhodes. 7.5 mill. anyone.????"

Thought something similar. If the idiots can forget his goal celebration for doing his job then why not? He's a bigger, stronger player than he was.

Im not sure which is the most ridiculous suggestion on this thread - Fraizer Campbell or Sebastian Giovinco!! If we got anywhere near signing Giovinco in the next 5 years then i will eat my right foot. In fact, i wouldnt want us to sign him cos i think that would make him certifiably insane for signing a contract with us. People really need to be at least slightly realistic here

God no, can we please not start the FC ****fest again. He's not coming back, and even if he did he has shown he won't be as good in the PL as he was for us in the Championship.

Lex Immers is a midfielder - I wanted us to sign him from Den Haag when we were in the Championship. Got an engine on him, runs all day, good technically as well as in the tackle - scores goals too (double figures in the Eredivisie the past 2 seasons).

It'd have to be us doing the signing, he wouldn't be able to.
